more about making the point that anyone can beat anyone in this league

I quite agree, very few easy games. I just don't share the optimism that the Xerxes 2000 has with our upcoming games based on the shit sandwiches we've been served up so far against supposedly 'easier' opposition

After the Palace result Brendan looked like a man on the brink. Three games and seven points later he has turned results around, and that is to his credit.

Improving the defence was not going to be too difficult, and he has achieved that, improving our striker performance was always going to be more challenging, and so it has proved.

At least we go into this crucial run of cup games against Bournemouth and Basel, and league games against Man U and Arsenal, with some optimism now.

I'm shitting myself....mainly due to the reason that we could lose against Basel, Mancs, Arse and Bournemouth easily, we may win as well, but I'm not holding my breath.

interesting to see what he does on Tuesday night.

he seems settled on mignolet, johnson, toure, skrtel, lucas, henderson, sterling and lambert at the minute.

he's also said gerrard is starting so that leaves left back and one of the three behind lambert to fill.

is manquillo injured? don't think he made the bench today.

think allen will start on tuesday too with henderson on the right.

The only thing he's done is what he should have done a lot sooner. Drop Lovren for Toure who can organise the defence better and lead with his experience (something Rodgers told us he'd spent 20 million on Lovren for) and take Gerrard out of that holding role to bring Lucas in to protect the back four better. These two decisions have made us that bit more solid as after the Palace game we were at the point where we were genuinely going to lose every game we played without making those changes.

Otherwise we're still playing as shit as we have since August. We've just played Sunderland and Stoke at home, both were poor and over the 180 minutes we managed  one scrappy goal at the end of the Stoke game. We played away at Leicester who defended like amateurs and Palace who were bang average at best. We should have had 10 or 12 points from those 4 games, no questions asked. We've only got 7. Now we've got United and Arsenal, how many points from those? Any decent team will beat us. Our only saving grace bar a couple of teams the whole league has been garbage. And two of the team in our CL group are crap.

Fuck off....he can't last a full game because our manager deems it so, i'm fucking sure he could given the chance. When played he offers a damn sight more than other players and puts a shift in! To say he offers fuck all makes your knowledge of the game limited.

agreed. He's played the full 90 against a few teams already, was our best player against everton a game we should have won if balotelli could score from 5 yards out to put the game to bed we'd have had the 3 points.

Lallana has shown he's a good player with a very good attitude. Which is the polar opposite to mario who's totally overated with a shite attitude.

This is turning out to be one bad hangover season and I don't know if the players have got the self-belief to even think, 'On our day we can beat anyone', which we normally have.

Not looking forward to the rest of it unless we can pull off a January transfer window like we had in Rodgers' first season, and some fresh impetus is injected.
