Who is the fella in the studio? I presume a former youth team player but don't recognise him at all.

Paul dalglish?

You can tell how the accent veers between Merseyside and Glaswegian about four times per sentence.

3-0 now. Such a shame that all the best players were ruled out because they were involved last night. Koumas, Danns, Nyoni and Nallo would have made a massive difference here.

Had the game on but muted while at work, so didn't really see the game in its entirety.

However, from what I did see, the best side won on the night.

Kone-Doherty and Morrison looked very rushed in anything they tried, up until the consolation at least.

Very easy to say now, but having Davidson at left back inverting certainly did not work on the night. Not that there were many choices at left back given that Nallo was up with the first team. Franny Gyimah puts a shift in, but he's no Larouci...

The lack of a proper number 9 also didn't help. I like young Kareem Ahmed, but he's not a 9. I didn't hear why Figueroa was not involved, but I have to assume injury or illness.

Yeah, rather be in the 6th round of the FA cup than the next round of the Youth cup, but we could have gone all the way with our strongest team. Even Doak would have been eligible for this (he’s injured anyway of course). Can you imagine that forward line - Doak, Danns & Koumas…

Yikes. To be fair to them you get mismatches sometimes at this time of year, the players who are going to get promoted have moved on and you start seeing schoolboys trying to step up.

No idea of the team, mind, just an assumption.

They did have an older team than us generally, though they did have a couple of younger lads like Mantato, who is an England U16 player.

Also, our massive injury list has meant that loads of kids have been getting jumped up a level. Danny’s was playing for the u18s until around January. A lot of the U18 kids are playing with the U21s to replace the likes of Koumas, Danns, Clarke, McConnell who are with the first team…. even Nyoni and Nallo, both of whom still qualify for the u18s , have been on the bench for the first team.

Anyone watch the U21s against Man Utd? Saw Danns goal that was it . Standout performances?

A good team performance.

Kaide Gordon was good. Danns looks like his time with the first team has done him good in terms of confidence, touch, speed of thought. Both scored great goals.

United didn’t offer much going forward but I like the look of Amara Nallo. Looks very assured.
