The more I watch The Shiled, the more I think this guy is one of the most - if not the most - complex, conflicted and fascinating characters in the history of television. A combination of the writing and constantly top-class acting by Goggins makes him a dramatic tour de force. Because of the depth and the nuanced touches I find it easy to try and imagine his backstory. He treats Vic like a father figure and hides behind his badge which makes me think he was probably bullied by his dad when he was a kid. I reckon he saw his mother or other members of his family abused by his dad which is why he's so obsessed with the idea of his own family being 'perfect', of having …

Finally the golf season starts again, and we can upgrade the thread title from Golf 2022 to Golf 2024 ( I cant be the only one annoyed that we did not have a Golf 2023 thread) Really close at the top of the leaderboard after the first day at The Sentry tournament.

A thread for restaurants, bars, attractions, parks, anything really that you like but that's off the beaten track a bit and maybe a lot of people don't know about. I'll kick off with a couple. Woolton Cinema - a traditional independent cinema tucked away in Woolton Village, went again recently for the first time in about 20 years and it was class. About six quid for a ticket and they still have an intermission in the middle where you can buy a Cornetto, highly recommended. Rococo - Coffee shop on Lord Street next to BHS, it's unbelievably easy to miss as it's basically just a small doorway. But walk upstairs and the place is ace, a big sized coffee shop with a co…

Fucking boss this. Crime drama about Dublin drugs doings which I only got to know about thanks to the Kin thread on here. Another great telly shout by the GF. Get onto it. Starts off naff as fuck, reminds me of Shameless, but gets better and better. Near the end of season 3 already.

This thread is to discuss past or present injuries/diseases and to ask for advice on them. So, what is bothering you? At the minute the skin on one side of the middle finger of my right hand is very tender. Hurts like a bitch whenever I touch it. I've noticed today, on the skin right next to the nail, is a little green spot the size of a pin prick. Is this infected? Will it kill me? Will it make me more virile and manly? I need answers.

Here we go again, another year another Liverpool extravaganza. A thread about tips, fancies and most importantly about free bets being offered by online bookmakers. So far, William Hill are the only ones I'm with that have offered anything and that's a massive £1 free bet. Ladbrokes are offering a matched bet of place a bet up to a maximum of £5 on the Grand National and get an equivalent free bet on Thursdays racing. SkyBet and Coral are offering 6 places e/w. That's all I've seen so far.

A 9 year old girl was shot dead in her home last night in Dovecot. Most likely in retaliation to a 28 year old girl getting shot in her home in Old Swan a few nights ago. A woman in her 50's was stabbed to death in a car-park in Kirby yesterday. Last week a 22 year old lad was shot dead in the Dingle. 15 years on from Rhys Jones being shot and it's as bad as ever

With my head still spinning from the fact someone had been jailed for three months for posting nasty comments on Facebook and no news organisations seemed arsed, I turned on the telly to see that at some point over the last few months - without me realising it - Boris Johnson has turned into the English JFK. Yesterday I heard him described as 'blue Viagra', 'a future Prime Minister' and 'a political rock star'. Heard how journalists love him because he 'remembers their names', 'tells jokes' and 'is a character'. It seems obvious they're maneuvering to get him to replace Cameron for the simple reason that he'd make good news stories owing to the fact he's an utter, ut…

Just been for a mooch around the market and spotted some Return of the Jedi stuff, made me propper nostalgic, I'm gonna watch them all tonight now! One obscure scene from the films that always stands out for me is in The Empire Strikes Back, when the AT-ATs are advancing on the shield generator and the commander asks for 'maximum firepower', however. just before shooting the generator he shoots a rebel in the back who's in the process of running away. Every time i see it it has me in stitches, what an absolute cunt!

Any decent new shows due out this year or next? So far the two below look like they could be good. Terra Nova (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Terra Nova : This in particular looks good, created by Steven Speilberg. Falling Skies - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Falling Skies :

Let's have a couple every day. I've nicked this piece of genius from some bloke who tweeted it in to 5 Live on Thursday night when they were talking about happiness: "Happiness is an overrated concept. There's far more sincerity in cynicism and overt misery" Superb, that.

I searched UFC and nothing came up so I'm starting a new topic. I'm watching 166 now, I've just watched the Melenzez V Sanchez fight and it was bloody epic! So entertaining, Sanchez always puts on great fights he's once crazy bastard. Check it out if you haven't seen it, slug fest! There has been some great fights this year, Jones V Gustavson was fantastic and there have been many more great fights this year.

I know it's finished but this needs to stay high on this board as a matter of principle. Someone mentioned the other day that we don't have a good enough Sopranos thread and he was right and frankly it's a disgrace. The memories of T, Chrissy, Sil, Ralphie, Paullie etc should never be left forgotten. It was simply the greatest TV show of all time: Perfect cast, perfect characters, perfect humour, perfect drama and a perfect ending regardless fow what any morons say. So show your love for The Sopranos by giving some thoughts on your favourite lines, episodes, characters etc and your thoughts on what the ending meant (anyone who has not bothered to see it yet …

It can't come soon enough even though I think Labour are a shambles. Save everyone flitting between the Sunak, Starmer and of course Corbyn thread, might as well keep the party in one place. This is funny, I'd piss myself if she beat that horrible little cunt

May I suggest we collect every single piece of outrageous scaremongering from the Daily Mail and post it here. Let me start with this beaut. Girl, 13, hangs herself after becoming obsessed with Emo 'suicide cult' rock band | the Daily Mail A girl of 13 killed herself after becoming obsessed with a fashion which links death with glamour, an inquest heard. Hannah Bond hanged herself from her bunk bed with a tie after becoming an "Emo". Emo fans wear dark clothes, practise self-harm and listen to "suicide cult" rock bands. Scroll down for more...
