13 and that would be 23 points from 13 games, which is 1.77 points per game - 67 points, a point off 4th last year and 4 points off 2nd. I also think we'll improve as the season progresses but realise that 71 points wont get 2nd this year.

I'll go for an optmistic 16 points! Its weird that I'm much more confident in our ability to beat Everton, City and Utd than I am in our ability to beat West Brom away.

From the equivalent fixtures last season (substituting Blackpool for Norwich and West Ham for Swansea) we got 12 points out of 21.

 

Incidentally, so far, we're currently 5 points up on the equivalent fixtures from last season (10 points versus 5).

Realistically we should be expecting to win the following games:

 

Everton

Norwich

West Brom

Swansea

 

Thats 12 points.

 

The remaining games are tight but 5 points would represent a good return and see us unbeaten. Anything more that 5 points from Mancs, Chelsea and City would be excellent, assuming that if we get 6 the loss doesnt come against the mancs.

 

For me, the first big test for this side is against United. The Spurs game is one of those games that you just cannot account for, so at home against this lot is a game that we shouldn't need any motivation. Hopefully Gerrard will be back meaning we will effectively have a first choice line up (Johnson & Agger could have a case here) so IMO we should be able to compete with these teams and should be looking do so.
