Best Beatles Cover

Recommended Posts

Yesterday on Radio 2, they were talking about cover versions of Beatles records and I was trying to think about good ones. Turns out that most of them have been crap as far as I can remember.

So far the best ones that I can think of are Bowie's cover of Across The Universe, Cheap Trick's Magical Mystery Tour and Aerosmith's cover of Helter Skelter (U2's version off Rattle and Hum was ok as well).

I've also heard a version of Come Together by The Butthole Surfers which was pretty good.

Any other ideas?

This has George Harrison also his son and tom petty amongst others. There playing while my guitar gently weeps.

The thing about this version is the fact its a superb version of it and rolling along nicely and then its princes turn to play his guitar. The guy just totally steels the track, with some amazing guitar work.

Hmm is it too obvious to say "With a Little Help From My Friends" by Joe Cocker? Totally changed it and made it sound so very good.

Plus it was theme to the Wonder Years, which helps.

Woodstock '69. Repped for having the right answer.
