Remember him? The kid we were signing but the Mancs bought his parents a house? The People reckon he wants to come to us now.

People.co.uk - Liverpool v Portsmouth

Liverpool want to sign England youth striker John Cofie from bitter rivals Manchester United. Cofie, 17, born in Ghana, joined United from Burnley two years ago and is rated one of Mr. Ferguson's best emerging strikers - he is already in the reserve team picture. But the Kop was his preferred destination before he left Burnley and he may be tempted to quit Old Trafford for Anfield, where he could be fast-tracked into the first team as the club are desperate to land top young talent to build a new team. Liverpool signed QPR kid Raheem Sterling from under United's noses last month and could now pluck another gem from their grasp this summer.

Probably looking an improved deal like Eccleston wanted from us.

Don't think he's set the world alight there, you can never have enough talented youngsters though

I don't think he'll get anywhere with Man U. Macheda, King, Morrison and Welbeck are all ahead of him, and then there is Rooney, Berbatov, Diouf and Owen... Most United supporters also rate Keane as a better player than Cofie.

  • 1 month later...
looks like he could be lacking in pace but good in the air!

He's good on the ground, Cofie.

And we'll need players like him when we've got a big stadium we need to fill ter capacity.

If he wants to come to us, don't let Ferguson put the mochas on it.
