What is your favourite thread ever?

Some of my favourites fell in the sweeping cull that hit the forum a while back. The sad thing is that you kind of forget why they were great and just live off the legend. There was one that I started as a dig at a bloke calling himself Djibbers, that was spamming the forum, that went full-scale GF on the *f and was brilliant. Maybe I'm wrong but I think we all have a little bit of bias for threads we were involved in or started, even if The Pasta Thread was acclaimed as a great one at the time.

The one where Olly the fireman got completely owned was a brilliant one and I think it counts as GF on the *f as it was evidently a GF bullying that occured and was not something those of *f stock could have produced themselves.

The best have usually had input from the old boys that have a rep for a reason and have also featured some of the rising stars of the time.

*Casts mind back to when the likes of RiS and RR were newbies whose irreverant style got them noticed as ones with potential*

The first one I posted on, oh the memories.

There have been several brilliant threads that have lightened my life during my time here , but only one has left me in absolute fits of laughter & it is the 'Kris Akabusi' thread from Tom Ross ( 20/5/07 )

derner!!

ONe of my all time faves was the Torres doing Household chores thread from the ff. I won't post it though, as I know the rules. But that one used to have me pissing every time.

After lurking in the shadows for a while and only recently subscribing I've had the opportunity to have a good shufty through the threads. As a grumpy old twat myself and someone who is aghast at 'celebrity' driven culture, I would like to nominate the 'The Twat List' thread as a personal favourite.

I also found the 'My Bum Hurts' and 'Rate the Last Film You Saw' threads extremely gratifying. However, the 'Bumming Dilemma' thread is causing me some sleepness nights and extreme consternation.

It certainly wasn't the funniest thread & with the cull there is no way I'll ever find it but there was a thread maybe 9 years ago recommending how to take a piss without the dribble retaining itself & splashing your bills. It was the moment I knew I'd found my spiritual home. The GF was a very different place then with far fewer members but the quality was very high and for maybe the 1st 3-4 years I had read every post on every thread on the GF. It's hard not to see it as a golden age, but truth be told I probably love the place just much now. I can't imagine what it'd be like discovering the place now
