Exactly.  We started that game with just three of our best side.

I thought the first subs lost us control, the second subs steadied the ship and after that we saw it out fairly comfortably.

2nd choice keeper, 3rd choice RB, 3rd choice LB, 4th choice CB, 2 x 2nd choice 8s and without our best forward.

Klopp took off Darwin and Mac Allister to protect them, I presume, without Salah and Endo, so we were light in midfield for the final 20 minutes. He responded to that by supplementing the defence with Konate, going to a back 5, and we did enough.

Robbo, Trent, Szoboszlai are back this week and Tsimikas, Salah and Endo are back mid-early February. One game a week in February will help ease them back in and give the other's a bit of a rest. Roll on Wembley and the rest of the season.

Be nice to be afforded chance to pull that Luton game forward like abu dhabi were with a league game when they were in milk cup final one year in a close race with us.

Nice little midweek slot spare after game v brentford on 17th....IMO we should be all over it.

Happy with that, one mistake aside.

Controlled all but the last ten minutes.

Most impressed with the overall spirit across the squad (for want of a better phrase).

Kids come in, play with similar quality and confidence of the vets.

Hooper did a good job as well I thought. Didn't buy their constant diving.

Hmmm. How the fuck did Jota have a foul given against him late on when he was fouled and likely through on goal? There were a few other decisions too. Not the worst but shows how poor standards are now.
