Dreading this one, it should be a piece of piss against an absolute shower of shit but this game has "minefield" written all over it.

Keep it tight, take our chances, no injuries, no stupid red cards, just ruthless efficiency., fear, surprise, and an almost fanatical devotion to the Klopp.

They wont expect…

With Mctominay and Fred  out, they might just stumble upon finding out that Matic is still their best defensive midfielder. I'm guessing his fitness/age is becoming a problem, but the few times I've watched them over the last months, he's the only one making them look structurally sound as well as camouflaging the shortcomings of the trainwreck that is Maguire back there.

If it wasn't for their vanity project up top, I think they actually would be best served by going like this (think Cavani, Bailly, Shaw and Varane are out/injured too?), if they wanted to salvage a result. I still think they would've suffered defeat, but trying to keep it tight and having four midfielders capable of holding onto the ball, winning free-kicks and keeping us honest with the occasional long balls for Elanga and Rashford to chase.

----------------------de Gea-------------------

Wan-Bissaka----Lindelof--Maguire--Telles

---------------------Matic---------------------

-------Pogba----Fernandes-----Mata----

-------Elanga--------------------Rashford------

No doubt Ronaldo will start after his hat-trick against the mighty Norwich though, so Mata probably makes way, and they isolate Ronaldo up top instead. I love it!

As a match goer I used to love these games. The edge around them, the atmosphere, the drama, even the real or perceived danger to body and soul. They were exciting and I could fully play my part.

These days, I dread them. Too blinking stressful, accompanied by crappy commentary and punditry.

This game will not be easy. Having said that…

Smash ‘em Reds.
