Hey, the mystery poster has been right every time until today. You’re Don Juan now. You better be here on Thursday.

I've posted the line up the last 3/4 matches. All have been on the money.

Yours,

Don Juan.

It seemed scary there at the end but I don't think they had another shot after our goal, did they?

They did come out of their shell a bit and we should have punished them but if you look at the threat they offered over the whole game it was very, very little. Gerrard has done well there to drill them defensively but they're still a long ways off being an actual good team.

They had no shots on target.

There should be yellow cards immediately for keepers who walk up to pen takers and defenders who try to delay the kicks. It's creeping into the game now - keepers just come out and stand there practically toe to toe with the taker and the refs ignore it. They all tried to put Mo off, good on him to ignore it (not for the first time) but it's completely out of order.

A tough slog against a team that only looked to make the game bitty, and a ref who once gave a goal even though the ball had gone a foot wide of the post. We were far from our best but we persevered, no thanks to a staggering level of ineptitude from PGMOL. What are these bastards in the black going to be like over the festive period while stuffed to the gills with mince pies and Advocat (or Jon Moss the rest of the year)?

As for Stevie? Mate, you were in Liverpool teams who came up against this sort of shit at least half a dozen times in the league. We used to see this regularly against the likes of Stoke, Bolton and anyone managed by the LMA Massive. I bet you were frustrated beyond belief and didn't think those sides were worth a point (or more) on the day, so DO NOT go thinking your team's approach and the referee's ineptitude should have seen you earn a point (or more) either. Fuck that small-minded mentality off sharpish if you harbour serious ambitions of managing the mighty Reds.

That was rediculously nervewracking

Stevie knew that if he brought villa and went toe to toe they'd get mullered, as would he by the villa fans, so he done what most managers have to do.

Would like to think that, with a couple of transfer windows behind him, he can show what his vision of a team playing football is and hopefully it wasn't what we just witnessed.

I haven't seen any clear replays but wonder how close Ali was to fouling Ingrave if we got away with one.

Villa’s set-up was very 2004-2007 Benitez/Mourinho. Generally, you can’t prosper playing football like that any more. Brighton and Brentford are playing more expansive football with a lot less resources. Both of them have really put us through the wringer too by standing up and having a go at us.

Looks like Chelsea got a really soft penalty as well as the cheating cunts up the road. This, along with refereeing like today, makes it looks like we're going to have to do it the hard way.

Dive by Rudiger for the second penalty. Same player probably dived for the first one as well, but that one did  look correct.

Just knew that the more Beglin heaped praise on Mings, the more Mings was going to royally fuck it up. He does it every time. Makes a few good blocks, everyone goes overboard, and next minute he’s looking like the kid who’s just broken another school window.

Oh yeah, and Ashley Young is one cheating, shithouse, wankstain. Made up at the thought of him moaning his way back to Villa Park. I hope there is a massive traffic jam on the M6.

True, but I did enjoy Martinez’s antics when Manchester United had an injury time penalty against them.
