Fulham (A) - Premier League - 13/12/20 - 16:30

For this one, let's go back to April 2009. We'd been having an excellent season, and it provided our first genuine title challenge of the Premier League era. Ultimately we couldn't get over the line first (cheers Howard Webb and Federico Macheda you cunts!), but we'd had some moments where it looked like we might genuinely do it this time. Recovering from a 2-goal deficit to win at nouveau riche City. Winning at Chelsea to kill off their long-standing unbeaten home league record (which stretched back to when Ranieri was still in charge!). Absolutely spanking the likes of Villa and Newcastle, and last but not least, hammering United 4-1 on their own patch. All hail the Doss!

The Fulham game looked like being one of those games where we's end up dropping points despite having all the play and chances. We just couldn't find the back of the net thanks to a combination of inspired goalkeeping, sheer bad luck and some wayward finishing. A win would have meant we went top of the league. As the minutes ticked away, it was looking unlikely. But then up stepped Yossi in the final minute of stoppage time. Everybody went mental on the pitch, in the stands, in pubs and bars, at home watching on TV. We'd found a way! I can't find a decent clip of the winning goal, but here's one of our fans after the final whistle.

Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face' spent 3 weeks at number one in March and April 2009. It's one of the best pop records of that time, and possibly the first song people might think of when asked to name a Gaga track. Also, she doesn't carry the x-Factor stench that was polluting so many songs in the 21st century so she gets a pass for that alone.

The Fulham game on Sunday afternoon is the first of 3 games in 6 days, all against London clubs. Based on this season's showings by both teams, our superior quality should be expected to see them off. If we have the right intensity and focus, make that doubly so. However, PGMOL and VAR always carry the potential to fuck things up. We've been on the receiving end of some absolute shockers this season, and who's to say that won't again be the case, especially as they just make shit up as they go along anyway. Be that as it may, just getting the job done with the minimum of fuss would be nice. Make it so!

My prediction of the starting XI

Kelleher; N. Williams, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Henderson, Jones; Jota, Mane, Firmino.

If Mo gets rested for this, he'll throw a hissy fit. No chance its happening.

Do you want more screenshots of Salah's stats in Norwegian? Because this is how you get more screenshots of Salah's stats in Norwegian.
