Jurgen Klopp has vowed to bolster his ranks at Liverpool this summer and highlighted his midfield options as an area where more depth is required.

The Reds boss pointed to Adam Lallana's injury-plagued season as a reason for summer additions, as well as the January departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

'You need additions because in the squad, actually, we need more quality,' Klopp said in an interview with Robbie Fowler for The Mirror. 'That is not to get rid of players but you have to mix it up a little bit.

'What do we do? We brought in Naby Keita already, an outstanding player. We will bring in a couple more players, that will happen. But we had the quality of players already to finish the season higher.

'Think about the season we played without Adam Lallana and half a season without Philippe Coutinho. Two of the best players in whole Premier League. They didn't play on the pitch for us.

'Can you imagine Phil Coutinho still in the team? And we play with the three up front (Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah) and Phil at No 8 - that would have been nice!'

Watch Lautaro Martinez. He’s fucking sublime. Apparently he’s signing for Inter, what a waste

Still only 20, not left Argentinian league yet, and people were fuming he wasn’t picked for their World Cup squad.

Some player.

They'll flog him for 40m in two years time

Paris Saint-Germain have blown Liverpool out of the water in the race for Gianluigi Buffon by offering him a four-year deal.

The goalkeeper is set to leave Juventus this summer and clubs are interested in snapping the Italian up.

Liverpool are one of those looking at the 40-year-old as they are attracted to his experience and the fact he is available for free.

But, according to La Repubblica, PSG have trumped them in the race for Buffon by offering him a four-year contract.

That would mean the goalkeeper could carry on playing until he is 44 if he saw out that deal in Paris.

Liverpool simply cannot compete with those terms and now a move to PSG for Buffon is edging closer.

The Italian legend played his final game for Juventus over the weekend, lifting the Scudetto in the process.

"cannot compete" as in "would be absolutely fucking mental to want to compete"

Barcelona are prepared to sell forward Ousmane Dembele, sensational reports claim.

Dembele, 21, has struggled to make an impact since his £135million arrival from Borussia Dortmund, netting four goals in 24 appearances.

As a result, Spanish website Don Balon claim Barcelona executives are ready to part ways with the France international.

And they've already offered him to a number of European heavyweights including Liverpool.

However, the report continues to say that none are interested in paying mega-money for the 21-year-old.

It’s said that Liverpool would only sign Dembele if they sold Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah, and Jurgen Klopp has no interest in allowing that to happen.

Liverpool Transfer News: The Reds are second-favourites to sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha odds

Liverpool are narrowly behind Manchester City in the battle to sign Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, according to the bookies.

Zaha’s stock continues to rise after another impressive Premier League campaign that saw him score nine goals with a further five assist to boot despite missing nine games through injury.

“Wilfried Zaha’s impressive season for Crystal Palace is set to spark a bidding war for the winger’s signature, with Manchester City the market favourites to land the 25-year-old,” BetStars director of trading Ian Marmion said.

“The Citizens are priced at 5/2 to get their man, however Champions League finalists Liverpool have also joined the race to sign the Ivorian international. Zaha would add competition to an already fully firing Reds frontline and the Palace favourite can be found at 7/2 to make the move to Merseyside.

“Tottenham are next up at 4/1, whilst Chelsea are valued at 6/1 to sign the former Manchester United man.”

AC Milan have slashed their asking price for Liverpool target Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Milan had been requesting around £61million for Donnarumma earlier in the year, but Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claim the San Siro club have reduced that valuation.

According to the report, AC Milan are now willing to sell for just £35m.

The reason for the drop is Milan’s desperate need to raise funds following a disappointing season in Serie A.

Their Chinese owners pumped £150m in the transfer funds last summer but Milan still sixth in Serie A.

Failure to qualify for the Champions League next season means the club may have to sell some of their top stars to meet Financial Fair Play obligations.

And that means Donnarumma could be on his way.

Corriere dello Sport claim Liverpool are ready to launch their initial offer for Donnarumma this month.

Their fans hate Donnarumma with a passion. They were throwing money at him during one of their games because they just see him as a money grabber. They had him in tears with the banners. They're ruthless.

They can sense the betrayal a mile off (a bit like the Bitters) and show no mercy.

I'd take a punt on Donnarumma if the price was right. Oblak and Allison dont seem possible especially Oblak so I think he could battle it out well with Karius. Yes he has made some howlers lately but what keeper hasn't, he's also pulled off some worldies and is only going to get better.

Has Man City or Liverpool even been linked with Zaha? Not that I'm aware of. Maybe Ian Marmion is a super ITK. More likely he's a spoofing cunt though.

Zaha has been linked to Liverpool in a certain rag which is not to be named. I think that can be doubted without too many problems.

Hearing from El Rojo's old geography teacher that Donarumma would cost North of £20m should any transfer go ahead with a series of teams looking to strengthen their goal keeping position potentially interested. Milan would also be looking at a replacement in the same position, should they decide to sell him.

Strangely passive description. He makes it sound as if he nipped out for some breakfast and when he came back Coutinho had disappeared into thin air.
