What people are forgetting about Ox is that this season was always going to be a recovery one. He had a very bad injury. I still think he's at his best driving through the middle and shooting but let's give him another season to see where he is. He might really benefit from a good pre-season

FEG - I don't see us signing Thiago unless Wijnaldum leaves. In which case it ought to be roughly revenue neutral (transfer fee-wise).

You do realise there's this thing called Covid 19? Sort of damaged peoples finances? And neither of us have any idea how much City will be spending this summer - I'm just saying it's possible.

Frankly if certain other clubs are going to splurge the cash this summer it's a p***take. Wasn't the main reason for City's acquittal that it was too long ago? No reason to stop another investigation next year if they don't keep to it. So long as the owners are not taking money out of the club I won't complain.

Anything is possible at the moment but the main thing is he would be very unlikely not to be covered if there were quotas for foreign players introduced.

I can't help but feel his political views might have affected his career unfairly.

Based on brief footage I was very impressed with the Scottish guy from Hearts. Very inexperienced though. Personally I'd like to hear more about Martin Edwards' All New Summer Sale. The squad really needs trimming.

Jamal Lewis. Youtube says yes. Crossing is the sort of quality you can improve with practice. Could be a roughish diamond. Laroucci going the other way means we've spent just half the Lovren money.

Surprised we aren't in for him if it's £1.5m and he can play R/B as well. Not seeing any mention of KJH as a possible LB. In truth I've no idea whether he's ever played there but it's not impossible.

I think there is a point in terms of the variety of play. I know we need players who fit 'our' system but we also need a bit of flexibility in how we set up so teams can't just nullify us in advance.

We've clearly got several players surplus to requirements. More on the progress there would be welcome. No point whinging about the owners. They aren't going to put their own money in but they aren't taking it out of the club either.

Don't often watch the local news but on BBC Wales Today the football news was inevitably focused on Cardiff/Swansea in the Championship playoffs. Most of the piece on Swansea was devoted to whether they could get Brewster back on loan next season with the head coach saying 'we'd love to have him etc.'

I wonder if we feel our strategy of getting business done early has cost us a little bit financially. Firstly because the standard approach is to haggle for months and then do a deal right at the end of the window. Clubs will only sell at the start of the window if you offer way over the odds. Secondly, let's say we get all our new signings in. We then go to sell A,B,C and every club know we are in a position where we have to sell to reduce our wage bill and we have several players surplus to requirements. So they low ball and we end up having to send them out on loan. I think we are trying to avoid this.

    Thiago Alcantara

It's all very odd. Are we interested or not? Firstly though there is the issue of Wijnaldum's future to sort out - I can't see us signing another midfielder unless he's leaving.

Gotta say I like him (based on a youtube vid!). He'd fit our profile much more than Thiago if Gini leaves. Not that I'd be disappointed with him.
