Someone's having a real laugh - sperm of gollum to Utd.

I don't have any dislike for Solskjaer but not convinced he's the second coming to keep us awake at night. My worry is that if we don't win the league this season it will be a case of us 'losing it' which wasn't the case in 2019 or 2009 for that matter. Even 2014 you have to say we lost to a quality team. Let's be honest not winning it this season would be painful. -
January 2021 Transfer Thread

I'm disappointed. I was hoping that the recent activity on this thread meant that Michael Edwards had finally got his cheque book out and spent the £100m we need to this January on three new players. Instead all we have is superhero puns. Marvel-ous -

Duncan Castles or Sven Botman? Only kidding. I'd like to sign Sven Botman if only because he has the most Alan Partridge/Fast Show football name ever. -
I never got the fuss with Busquets.

I don't want to mention Woodburn (there, I did it) but the only that worries me with Elliott is he seems like he could be an old fashioned number ten. The sort we don't really see anymore.

The goal was scored by Mountfield?

I get the idea about 18 premier league teams but the reality is that the clubs will simply replace the matches with other ones - an expanded champions league/prestige preseason games etc. I don't think it is about reducing the workload at all. Two thirds majority does seem a bit high but reducing it to the nine teams who've been there the longest is way too much. And do we really want to be getting too cozy with the Glazers? The stuff on opening accounts up is impressive - not least since we seem to be relying on Man City and Chelsea to support this proposal! Other than ourselves and United is anyone publicly behind this?

Most overrated players we signed that never became good
RoyHodgeGone replied to WhiskeyJar's topic in FF - Football Forum
I actually feel sorry for some of these players who were never that good and were given foolish hype - Biscan, Cheyrou, Pongolle. The obvious disasters would be Cisse and Carroll. What I never understood about signing Carroll was that we had already signed Suarez. Did we ever envisage them playing together? What was the plan to use him? -

If we've had one weakness of late it's against those teams that park the bus at Anfield. Could this be the answer. Also I'm not sure about Bobby as a No. 10. I don't think he played his best when we used him there.

Lincoln (A) League Cup 24/9/20 - 19:45

No chance Matip is playing. I'd play Gomez if he is fit. -
What abut our homegrown players? We look at about 6 or 7 at most.

Could he be a fox in the box? The sort we perhaps have been missing?

Let's be honest, Brewster hasn't been given a real chance to prove himself in the 1st team. However if Klopp thinks he isn't going to work out I trust him. A buy back clause for not much more than the asking price would be good business sense. I think we were all expecting the transfer coffers to be bursting this year because of sales that haven't materialised (yet). I still say the player I'd like is Buendia.

Let's keep things in perspective. International break, league settled, Trent hasn't had a pre-season. Yesterday should be a wake up call. Our offisde line didn't look it's usual self.

Hasn't Naby been one of our best players since the lockdown?
