Not really he's more of a Xabi, his passing short range and long range is excellent, he's as slow as Xabi as well, he's not a Masch style destroyer throwing in slide tackles all over the place. He's like a half way house between Xabi and Joe Allen that'd be the best way to describe him, there's a bit of Gerrard in there as well.

Madrid signing Lucas Silva was the confirmation he's no longer wanted IMO.

 

They have Kroos as the holding midfielder. With Rodriguez/Modric/Isco as the playmakers in front of him. Lucas Silva is basically Kroos understudy , which means Illarramendi can get fleeting appearences when any of the 6 ahead of him are injured or suspended. I doubt he'll be happy being a reserve substitute personally, so I think if they can get decent money for him- they'll probably be interested.
