Youth Cup Quarter Final tonight.

Offal

Kick-off is at 7pm GMT and you can join Claire Rourke alongside former Red, Gary Gillespie, for the best build-up at 6.30pm, while David Fairclough will be on co-commentary duties.

Neil Critchley's side hope to reach the semi-finals of the cup for the second season in a row and the tie must be decided on the night, with extra-time and penalties if necessary.

Sensational run from Canos, that. It looks like him and Chirivella are really starting to settle and show what they can do now. They both look very promising. Trickett-Smith has come on a lot recently to.

Would agree about Chirivella, but will have to disagree about Canos. Yes, he's shown flashes of his potential, like the run above, but he's been so in and out of the team that it's too early to really get a read on how he might develop for us, in my opinion.

Due to the problems with his international clearance when he first arrived and a couple of little injuries, he's hardly played for the 18's. He didn't make his 18's debut until the 9th November and since then, he's been involved in 10 of the 17 games that the 18's have played.

As good a place as any to post this. (Meant to post it yesterday but forgot).

Academy youngster Jakub Sokolik has joined Southend United on loan, Liverpool Football Club confirmed today.

The 20-year-old will switch to Phil Brown's League Two outfit and could make his first start for the Shrimpers in their clash against Scunthorpe United tonight.

Sokolik, a talented and imposing centre-back, arrived at the Reds' Kirkby Academy from his hometown club, Banik Ostrava, in 2009.

Just to add, if we do progress this evening, we'll face either Fulham or Huddersfield in a 2 legged semi final. The first leg of which would be played at Anfield.

Arsenal will play Chelsea in the other semi, after they beat Everton and Newcastle respectively.

Yes he always has a lot of influence in same way Rossiter does for the U-21's.

Confirmed #LFCU18s team v Reading tonight: Crump, Randall, Jones, Williams, Maguire, Chirivella, Rossiter, Brannagan, Ojo, Wilson, Kent.

Confirmed #LFCU18s subs for tonight’s Youth Cup clash with Reading: Firth, Cleary, Hart, Canos, Trickett-Smith.

Strange that Trickett-Smith is on the bench given his recent form. Still, plenty of attacking options on the pitch and on the bench.
