Its actually quite staggering that you accuse others of being racist yet your signature is a quote from a massive racist. Also, if you are going to send me insulting messages like 'your a disgrace', please use correct grammar, as in 'YOU'RE a complete moron'. Such matters are particularly important if one makes a habit of boasting about ones intellect. Thanks.

Unfortunately the views expressed in this thread seem too entrenched and long-held to disentangle. It's immensely sad that as a supporter base we are still so divided and willing to engage in never-ending circular arguments from which it is very rare to emerge from with any credit, regardless of whether you're right or wrong.

I should state that I'm a member of SoS and am immensely grateful for the work they have done and continue to do on behalf of ALL Liverpool fans. I'm also grateful for the work that every other fan group committed to ridding us of H & G. They did that on behalf of ALL Liverpool fans.

I think everyone on this thread, barring the poor chap who felt he'd been patronised, recognises that at least some good has come of SoS and this is what we should focus on. We shouldn't focus on the negativity and semantics that brings out the worst in both sides.

Does SoS have idiots among its members? Yes, as does every large body of people. Have they made mistakes? Yes, and will continue to do so, like any other similar organisation. Do they have the promotion of Liverpool fans' best interests at their core? Yes, although not everyone, including their own members, will agree with everything they do and say. As a teacher, and member of the NUT, I can be saddened or inspired dependant on which representative is talking. Without wishing to be patronising, that is the nature of unions. It is your prerogative to join or not, moan or agree, be passionate, debate and argue, but please keep perspective and judge everything on its individual merits and not drag up past expressed opinions on almost unrelated topics in an attempt to point-score.

There is a growing fan-movement in this country which, in time, might be able to effect real change that could benefit every supporter. Liverpool fans, union or not, will have a massive role to play in this but we have to begin to put aside extremely petty differences.

Repped. Calmly and rationally put. My only complaint is that you didn't post about 10 pages ago, it would have saved a lot of the shouting.

If you say so. Thanks.

If it was a cunt of a post then that is fine but at least explain why. Debate, add your opinion to the forum to why you think so. I am genuinely interested.

Instead of name calling and antagonising and being angry with most of your posts (not just against me) take a step back and add your own opinions to why you think these things. It would make for much better reading. You cunt ;-)

I think your a cunt too, the difference being ill say it here rather than a shithouse neg.

Oh it's okay I'll give you a shit-house neg and I'll say what a waste of time you are on here too.

Another one who never adds anything in terms of debate on here & just trolls his way across the forum.

Like fecking Groundhog Day.

I have no idea why you refer to me as a member of the H&G fan-club, but I'm sure you have your reasons

Ironically your work here makes that a lot harder

You gotta ask yourself why people are so anti union on here and weigh that up against the need for change and a fairer shake for supporters.

Words are wind or just text on a screen. Put your money where mouth is. You can spend your energy posting on here, blurring the lines of what's happened to this club with inconsequential bullshit or you can elevate your awareness and realise what's of greater importance important. You can either be part of the group think on here or do something positive.

I'm the polar opposite to the snide, myopic nonsense that's been posted about the union on here in the last few years. Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name.

Now, there's a gaping middle ground and people are leaping into it like salmon.

Jack Burton has pointed the way, his post is the example to follow. Read it and read it again. Absorb it and appreciate it.

I'm not sure who you're talking to here. The only thing I've been anti is your way of posting, I've hardly written anything about the union.

Basically you're coming on a discussion forum telling people to stop discussing unless they agree with each other and your point of view, right?

Now, there's a gaping middle ground and people are leaping into it like salmon.

That's hardly surprising, most people with common sense tend to have balanced views.

If you really cared about the union you'd stop posting and let him do the talking. Just a friendly advice.

No, little lamb. I'm saying it's better to focus on what's important.

If you're hung up on 'me' then that reflects badly on 'you'.

Read Jack's post again.

What's important to you is unimportant to others. In the days of H&G, which was before my time here, I assume people here were as busy taking them down as anyone else, including SoS. I think you need to learn to live with people being interested in different aspects of the club. And if you don't like the discussions on certain forums you are more than free to leave. It's easy really, little lamb.

Your posts do smack of someone who is largely oblivious to the content of what's being said. That all of this is unimportant to you is not in the least surprising.

You might want to change your strategy for posting, there seems to be quite a lot of us failing to see your point, which is a bigger problem for you than for me to be fair. I'm not sure what you hope to achieve with your self-righteous, abusive ranting.

When you're floundering it's good to draw on an imaginary gallery.

You not being sure is down to you being largely oblivious to what's being said and of it being of no importance to you.

It begs the question - why do you continue to interject.

I don't have to justify my participation in a debate in a forum I'm a member to you. If you try to reach specific members of the forum without interference from others I suggest you try the Private Message - function. The more relevant question is why you're here, seeing you offer mostly overbearance and abuse to anyone who engage with you.

Coro, i've got to ask, you clearly see the worth in Jack Burton's mannered and non-judgmental post, so why continue with a posting style that seems the complete antithesis, particularly when it's on a subject that's important to you?

Can you not see how, by association, being on the aggressive with those who are part of a group that the union hopes to win support from will only alienate people from your cause?

Honestly, i like the idea of a prominent body such as this, but it just seems each time the subject is brought up in public or on forums, the detractors are belittled rather than won around. I just don't see how that fits in with anyone's view of socialism, let alone Shankly's.
