You mention Newcastle and I think we are in a very similar situation to what they were a couple of years ago.They had a manager who was doing well but they forced him out due to their fans disliking him.Pardew had a season where he overachieved and when things went wrong the next season their fans forgot about the position they were in before he arrived and assumed they should be challenging for cl every year.

 

Let's hope the similarity ends there, if the manager does go I wouldn't be surprised to see us go backwards like them.

Yes the two situations are alike. Rodgers is certainly one of the best managers that we have recently had.

And what about Rodgers' actual performance in the job? Is that not a factor? Are we playing well consistently? Are we improving our weak areas? That is what he is paid to do and yet we have 4-3-3 in the ditch after just 300 minutes of league football. We have no sense of a team despite spunking shit loads of cash.
