We have Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Christian Poulsen, Paul Konchesky, Philipp Degen, Brad Jones, Fabio Aurelio, Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Nabil El Zhar that need to be offloaded, before we even consider offloading Meireles ...

 

1) You forgot Aquilani. No, wait, you're one of the RAWKers who believe him to be the new Graeme Souness.

 

2) Kenny re-signed Krgyiakos this Summer.

 

3) Degen and El Zhar have, what, 18 months or 12 months left on their contracts? Not exactly high-priority.

Prentice's article and Code's stats just prove that most of the time stats are just used to suit an agenda. Not always, but a good lot of the time they are.

 

It's one thing to quote selectively, but his is entirely different, Prentice's "facts" are just made up.

1. Aquilani is not the new Graeme Souness, but is a quality creative central midfielder, with above average play-making abilities ... If he remains on the same fitness level as last season at Juventus, he will keep Adam on the bench ...

 

2. Kyrgiakos was not resigned by Kenny ... He's had an appearance related clause in his 2-year contract, and that clause was triggered once he has made more than 20 appearances last season, adding another year to his contract ...

 

3. Degen is on 50,000 per week ... At the same time, Meireles is on 30,000 per week ... Think about it a little ...

3. We have 2 clubs interested in Meireles where we will get our money back. therefore, he is priority because no fucker will want to take Degen as he is fucking useless. I read on RAWK last night someone stating that Merieles and Aquafuckinglani BOTH deserve to be at the club over Jay Spearing.

 

I was pissing myself reading that post.

1) I think they are both players of about equal technical talent, albeit very different players. Aquilani represents a much greater risk but is a better playmaker. Raul is busier off the ball and makes great runs into the area which disrupts the opposition defence. Neither are as bad as their naysayers make out, both could be key players given time, but also neither are central pieces of our team right now.

 

2) Kenny didn't re-sign Kyrgiakos. It was a clause in his existing contract that prompted an automatic extension.

 

3) Who gives a shit? Both aren't good enough and both are taking the club's money. Both need to go as soon as possible. Neither seems to be even training with the rest of the squad... unlike Poulsen and Konchesky, worryingly.

 

4) I'm not going to moan about people calling him a cunt anymore... feel free.

 

Edit: I agree with WP, on no planet is Aquilani going to keep Adam on the bench. He will be back up to Gerrard as the more advanced of the three midfielders... if Raul goes and he stays obviously.

If Aquilani continues with his fitness level from last season ? Not even a doubt about that ... Clearly a superior player to Adam ... Unless, of course, you actually judge him on those 6 months, coming from a career threatening double ankle surgery ...

When asked if it was speculation or if it had been confirmed that Meireles was not going on the Asia tour, someone said it was a journo who had written that. Perhaps we should take some of what they report with a giant bag of salt.
