Hodgson didn't deliberately fail.  His facial expression at the press conference post Iceland when he quit was one of a man who had believed his own shite for so long, then had seen the result of that misplaced belief unfold before his very eyes with the total collapse of his beloved Ingerrlund side.

He failed because he's a fucking inept old buffoon, absolutely clueless.  The only thing he appears to be good at is being a blag merchant, and it helps to have some arse licking friends in the right places.

His pigeons came home to roost on Monday night, big style.  Now the rest of the football world can clearly see what we saw for that short, horrible period he was in charge here.
