Help with an exam

I was given this question on an exam, and could use some help answering it. The question is: 3. “The enduring legacy of colonialism for newly-independent states was a pattern of economic dependence”. Discuss.

I have a (very) general idea of what I'd like to say, but I could use some assistance.

You need specifics - examples, cause and expansion...read up.

What kind of help are you looking for? Facts? Arguments? How to go about crafting the essay?

Might be good to mention South East Asia, including Vietnam and Indonesia and how the U.S allowed the British and French empires to continue to a degree (even though the U.S was anti-imperialism) only because they saw it as a lesser evil compared to the emergence of communism in the world, and a potential buffer to the spread of socialism.

Draw pictures of cocks all over the exam sheet instead. You can't go wrong with that.

In fact, make it creative. Draw one cock which is called "Regional Hegemony" and an arse called "Africa". The Biffin Bridge inbetween the arse and the fanny can be called "Hearts and Minds", and the fanny itself called "Superpower"

The cock fucks the arse constantly but occasionally gets a sweetener from the fanny, but all three discharge their detrius one way or another over the Biffin Bridge.
