    That's about right. It's not vital that a CEO is a football genius - is any Premier league CEO really a 'football man'? What is important is that they're ultimately professional, show strong and clear leadership, leave the football to those directly involved and don't have a name like 'Ayre'.

    I don't think that's the way Pepe works. I think he's one of those rare players with a sense of honour about such things.

    Ayre is a twat, spot on - but the Spanish FA have an issue with Aspas' brother who has been a prat with them - not the club. Ayre may not be all that long for his job.

    Given how far we'd fallen under the yoke of H&G and the fact we're now only just stable, can't blame them. If this pans out, it could be a graceful exit for FSG in a year or so.

    Al Jazeera has reported the Qatari investment firm 'Ooredoo' has decalred a strong interest in 'full investment' Liverpool FC with a view to boosting asian markets and promoting the upcoming World Cup in the region. This is what was said on Al Jazeera by the Ooredoo rep: "The goal was to sponsor a big English club with a huge history, our search included Arsenal & Manchester United but the former two have long sponsorship deals and the same applies to Manchester City so Liverpool is the only club available right now." "We want to sponsor the club in full. We want to sponsor the Stadium (possibly rename it) as well as the club's kits. Our goal is to reach the Asian markets where the Premier League has an enormous fan base." "We received the tender from the club a few days ago and we are currently in the process of due diligence and we are studying each aspect of the study." "It is a dual interest, Liverpool needs the money to compete with the European heavyweights and we want to expand our brand to reach new markets via football." So...thoughts?

    It's simpler - KNVB actually gave him a 5 match ban - Ajax added two matches of their own as punishment to make it 7 - ergo, the 2 Ajax matches being club based did not form part of his registered punishment and were unenforcible when he came to us.
