Back to being the most boring fixture on the calendar. Too much nerve and negativity from us. Not that easy to look fluid when facing Stoke on steroids, time-wasting negative bastards enabled by Olivers refereeing though.

 

My main gripe is we just gave them too much respect, and weren’t willing to take any chances in midfield. 

Second on the list is our stubborn-headedness with the infuriating outswinging corners that more often than not end up around the penalty spot. Why not swing them in, pack the box and just play a little gritty around the keeper? If we have a set piece coach, he should be fired.

 

We wont win the PL if we don’t bring another forward in though. We desperately need someone in the middle to connect our play. Darwin does absolutely nothing in our build-up play, its like playing with 10 men when we have the ball. Gakpo showed some promise last year, but seems to have been told to play deeper.

 

On the positive side, we didn’t lose any ground to City. Win against Arsenal (who will give us and Darwin a bit of space), and everything about this game will be forgiven (and possibly forgotten).

We just are not playing well imo, we've done brilliantly to grind out some wins recently but only a mtter of time before it catches up with us.  Unless we drastically improve the next few games we are going to be a bi of a wake up call.

Natural finishers don’t continually miss easy chances, they may not create a great deal for themselves but they do not miss easy chances regularly. We as a team have been awful virtually all season yet we are where we are and the management need more from themselves and the players, wether that means positionally, tactically, or personnel.

It would be nice if our "wingers" went on the outside a bit. Like not cut inside every time and run across the box and have their shot blocked by someone in their block. 

 

That was a game defined by United players blocking. Blocking shots, blocking and intercepting forward passes. 

 

At least if we got to the byline and pulled it back it would test their ability to mark and clear as their ability to block was not in any question.

The thing that perplexes me more than anything about Darwin, is how he looked like such a natural finisher against us while playing for benfica. But let's all be honest for a moment, he's been pretty crap for us to date, and pretty much the complete opposite of what he was at benfica
