Always looks like that lately, says things need to change and we've reacted in training yet we play that midfield and play the same way as the previous 20 odd games teams done needs a complete overhaul.

What the fuck do you WANT him top say? I'd really love to know.

Arsenal despite their abysmal Anfield record in recent times will be licking their lips to get at us at weekend.

No doubt Hendo and Fabinho will have to play for a 3rd time in a week and will be unable to move after about 50 mins....Jones will be back in traction after playing about 3 months worth of football for him tonight and whoever we bring in to make up our 3 in the black hole, Odergaard et al will likely destroy and bully, and then their really lively forwards will get a glut of chances that they won't waste like Chelsea did tonight.

Absolutely awful, that.

Created next to nothing, gave up the usual 2 or more good chances to the opposition, passed the ball awfully, saw the midfield bypassed with regular ease by anybody who can break out into any sort of run with the ball that is faster than a jog and we just looked to get it forward as fast as we could, with fizzed, rushed balls meaning that the hold up and link up play was practically nonexistent.

What do we do in training? The whole team looked like they were playing football for the first time ever. Falling over, sloppy passing, easily controllable balls bouncing off them.

A real sloppy, half arsed performance.

God bless the day Thiago is back.

He may improve us a bit, but we’ve had plenty of awful defeats with him in the middle this season too.

It’s telling enough that we’re not being bombarded with stats on how many games we win when he’s available any more like the ones doing the rounds last year.

I’m just happy that we’re another game towards the end of the season.

The problem with training is the complete lack of realistic competition. Players may well look sharp, but its impossible to really compare.

It’s the difference between playing the A.I. and playing another human in FIFA. In training, it’s too predictable.

Owen just made some fair comments. The standards reached in recent seasons are so out there, that it’s so easy to criticise what’s on display.

The two biggest drop-offs for me, are in unforced buildup errors, and a massive drop in overturning possession in the press at the front. Shocking.

One other gripe I have, is a poor throw-in set piece attitude. Nobody wants the ball, nobody moves into space, no urgency and we usually lose possession. It’s pathetic.

Trying to look at the positives:-

Gomez should keep the RB spot for the remainder of the season.

Nunez looked good, my heart always sinks when he comes off.

They looked like tits celebrating their 'goal'.

Our support were good.

Maggie Thatcher is dead.

Henderson and Fabinho never have to play.  It's a choice.

If we'd have parked the bus tonight and come away with a 0-0 and restricted them to very few chances and looked solid and hard to break down, then actually that might have felt better and felt like maybe we had found a way to stop the rot away from home.

But what actually happened is we played the same way we always play, were carved open often, looked fragile and there for the taking and could and maybe should have got another good hiding.
