Someone’s Having a Real Laugh - How Long Until They ‘Bin Bag’ Ten Hag?

Yep. Didn't Antony cost more than Darwen as well? He has been awful for them. And he looks a right twat

He's a weird player. It feels like every single tricky Brazilian winger in the history of the sport has also been lightening quick, and yet somehow, United have seemed to sign the one of those that can't run past anybody.

Hojlund (€75m) - jury out but early signs are good

Ermmm…7 Games, 0 goals and 0 assists. What signs are you looking at? And then you give the same rating for McAllister.

Called it at the time - he’s a promising player who won’t reach his potential at Old Trafford because, well, potential is all he is right now and that is one toxic place for a young player. Fast forward a few years, he won’t be first choice any more, but he’ll still be 22 or 23, and maybe they’ll make a profit on paper but not once his wages and the line are considered.

I'm wondering if the downfall coincided with the FA board at the time cashing in their manure shares and going onto directorships elsewhere. Ultimately leading to zero influence on referees as god forbid the share price dropping.

Football died in 92 when it became big business, creating a 'super club' to dominate and reap the whirlwind from. It's no different to other leagues in the world being corrupt to line the pockets of those in charge. Now you have the situation of citeh and at some point newcastle having the greatest share price gains if you buy them early on. Once they peak they will be left to rot as is the case with the Mancs.

City and Newcastle aren't traded on the stock market?

Rashford the latest player to be given down the banks by Ten Hag after being seen out partying the same day they lost to City. They are an absolute fucking mess. Would not surprise me one iota if Fulham beat them today. Maybe a draw would be better. We really don’t want him getting sacked just yet.

Rousing 1-0 win to the Red mancs. Corner turned. Missing piece of jigsaw to be signed in January.

Idling about during a wait to go into a call with work and found myself looking at their transfer record. To be honest it's a myth that they've recruited badly since Ferguson left - he recruited pretty badly himself. After he signed Carrick for big money in 2006, I'd say only Tevez (2007), Berbatov (2008), De Gea (2011) and van Persie (2012) were genuinely very good signings - and let's face it, other than De Gea none of them really required much scouting. They were some of the best players in the league, and well-established ones at that.

They're fucking shit at transfers, properly shit at them. Here's their most expensive 12 signings of all time:

  • Pogba (€105m) - poor signing
  • Antony (€95m) - poor signing
  • Maguire (€87m) - poor signing
  • Sancho (€85m) - poor signing
  • Lukaku (€85m) - poor signing
  • Di Maria (€75m) - poor signing
  • Hojlund (€75m) - jury out but early signs are good
  • Casemiro (€71m) - good signing but short term
  • Bruno Fernandes (€65m) - transformative signing
  • Mount (€64m) - jury out but early signs are poor
  • Martial (€60m) - poor signing
  • Fred (€59m) - average signing

One transformative signing and a couple of decent to good ones in amongst almost a billion euros spread over 12 players and almost a decade. Insane.

I mean I thought we were poor (and we probably used to be until a recent improvement) but really we're geniuses compared with them:

  • van Dijk (€85m) - transformative signing
  • Nunez (€80m) - good signing
  • Szoboszlai (€70m) - calling it already, transformative signing
  • Alisson (€63m) - transformative signing
  • Keita (€60m) - poor signing
  • Diaz (€47m) - good signing
  • Benteke (€47m) - poor signing
  • Fabinho (€45m) - transformative signing
  • Jota (€45m) - good signing
  • Mac Allister (€42m) - jury out but early signs are good
  • Gakpo (€42m) - good signing
  • Salah (€42m) - transformative signing

Five transformative signings and just two duds in amongst 600m euros spread over 12 players and almost a decade. We spend big money and there's a 5 in 6 chance we get a good player at least and about a 1 in 5 chance he transforms our first team. They spend even bigger money and there's at least a half chance he's a dud.

They need to stop spending money, never mind asking for more. Useless cunts.

Fernandes was good for about five months after he signed.

Transformative my arse.

Must admit its quite entertaining to see that Ten Hag is now throwing one of his better players under the bus, especially for attending their own birthday party. Certainly a great way of turning one of the likely more influental members of the dressing room against him.

An heroic draw, with VAR snatching a draw from the jaws of victory would be just perfect.

Was he good for 5 months or was it just COVID empty stadium when everyone stopped tackling? And if there was a tackle in the 3pm game, man united got a pen in the 5.30.

Personally I reckon he lost the dressing room when he revealed Sancho's mental issues against his will. And then threw him under the bus. But the first part has to be the killer in the dressing room as he could do that anyone.

He's giving of vibes of knowing he can't turn chicken shit into chicken soup and he's just happy to plod on until they pay him off.

Unfortunate because we all know Manchester United do not sack managers and I was hoping he'd be at the wheel for our game next month. Alas, I think we might have a new Someone's having a laugh thread by the end of the next international break.

Rashford out injured for the game against Fulham, looks like Ten Bags threw him well and truly under the bus

Can't quite see what he's done wrong, he went out for his birthday AFTER the game?

I don't mind Rashford for all the good work he does, he's the opposite of a big time Charlie, especially considering the criminals that have come through their ranks in the last few years. He's not a good player though, which is fine by me.

At least we picked a successor a ways back in this thread.

3 Stacks.

He's the only one available and it continues the number based naming trend which should be continued.

"Someones Having a Real Laugh - How Long They Whack 3 Stacks?"

Seriously though, if they bin bag him (Ten Hag that is) who do they even get?

He's definitely lost the dressing room.

Apparently rashford was in training the Monday morning. So the message ten hag is given is, the players aren't even allowed to go out anymore.

Imagine them trying to sell themselves to a future signing.

"come here, get booed, win nothing, oh, and you're now not allowed to socialise either"

Their hunt for a manager will go the way it always goes with them, including with players.

Names like Zidane and Ancelotti will be thrown around until it's decided they were intimidated by taking on the biggest club in the world, then they'll go for someone lower down the food chain.
