I have noticed the increased numbers this season, could be due partly to the euro to pound rate. We tend to avoid places like Kynance, Porthcurno and St Ives in the school holidays as its always mental. Like people say its great to have the numbers but perhaps it could be managed better.

St ives is a fantastic place but the sheer volume of traffic in the summer make it a place to avoid

The Midland was only refurbished a few yeas ago. Is it getting another one ?

Not that I know of. I replied to GD as he might not have known about it and I’m always happy to support projects that support regeneration in neglected areas

The only reason I asked was the company I used to work for were the ones that brought the building back to life.

Oh, right. Have you been in? I’ve not but I’m a sucker for all that inter war optimism...

I've cycled past it a couple of times but not been in. I seem to remember the locals being very pleased when it was refurbished. Apparently the facade looks quite good when sun is shining on it.

I bet it does. It was still a building site the last time I was there. I should maybe make a detour sometime

Friend of a friend owns a house in Byron Bay in northern NSW. Fucks off at the beginning of December every year and returns in February, rents the place out to tourists over the school summer holidays. Makes enough to live on for the year - the prices, especially over Xmas/New Year are stupid.
