2018 Pre-Season Match Thread

Nice warmup for the the guys who all played.

 

Not reading too much into it because its pre-season and it was the first game for almost all of them in almost a month.

 

Keita - gonna be a superstar for us.

Sturridge - good touches and good link up play. Showed with the last goal why its so frustrating with him

Wilson - superb finishing for both the goals. Klopp might look to give him a free rein if he plays him. 

Woodburn - Him and WIlson got a bollocking from Klopp after 20 mins and then played some very nice through passes. Looks to have put on some muscle during the summer.

Ings - was subject of 1-2 rough tackles. Also showed why we are okay to let him go. Industrious and hard working but not quite skilful enough.

Fabinho - looked rusty and slow. One or 2 calm moments of passing but then towards the end of 1st half, just hit one in no man's land.

Clyne - looked very dangerous and was always involved in the attacks.

Origi - decision making lets him down.

 

Good to see the crowd cheer Karius and offer him support. Went down too early in 1-on-1 situation but was fortunate to block the ball with his legs and see it bounce over the goal.

 

 

 

Also came close to scoring picking a lose ball on the edge of the area.

Not seen anyone do that for us for a while. Hit the inside of the post

Forgot to mention Curtis Jones. Impressive for a 17yr old. Didn't look out of place amongst others and can play with both feet. He is someone to watch out for.

Nah it was yesterday. Played Tranmere. Walked the first half to 3-0. poor the second half, including a Karius howler from a free kick hit right into his chest. Finished 2-0.
