2018 Pre-Season Match Thread

Recommended Posts

Unbelievably, we play our first pre-season friendly today at 3pm against Chester, the same time as the England game.

Obviously some genius at the club who arranged this didn't check the World Cup fixtures. Not sure why this wasn't arranged for tomorrow on a World Cup rest day.

Will need to find a site that has the full game to watch after it's finished.

Baby Keith and Fabinho likely to make their debuts.

I'm going to this. I think it's a sell out but I'm pretty sure loads won't come now because of England but at least Chester will have made a few quid on the already sold tickets.

We were supposed to play Tranmere on Wednesday but that has been brought forward to Tuesday so as not to clash with a potential England semi final.

We told them they can keep all the gate receipts. No wonder when the England game is the same time there will be no fucker there.

According to this, Fulham and us are the only Premiership teams playing today. Fulham game is behind closed doors though. 12:30pm kick off.

Shit luck that England are playing the same time as us, but still piss poor planning by the club as WC fixtures have been known for ages to have it the same time as a quarter final.

I've been told it's Chester that won't budge on the time.

Maybe they took it for granted that England would be utter shite and be home by now ?

I'll be honest and say that I did.

I feel the same as aRdja though. Pumped.

I'm dying to see how Keita fits in, along with Fabinho.  And to see how the youngsters are faring.  I'll probably have both games on today at the same time, but the England game will be muted.

What young player is going to score in pre season and not get a sniff of action this year?

My vote is Kent.

Because pre-season games are an excellent barometer...

I remember people cooing over Voronin based on a few pre-season games.
