I read ages ago on twitter that he failed a drugs test and it was being kept quiet like with Berahaino. It said on there that he’d have a “setback” around December/January time after his appeal failed and he has another couple of months ban left. Very very far fetched I know and I don’t think I actually believe it at all but it would explain his current situation where nobody has a clue what’s going on with him. The way he played at times last season I wouldn’t be at all surprised that he failed on Valium!

Did you get this info from a bluenose taxi driver?

Very much doubt you can hide a drugs ban.

Berahaino did until Pulis announced it being a cock just before he left West Brom, Mark Hughes basically said Pulis was meant to keep it in house but chose not too.

Seems like recreational (fa has discretion) vs. performance enhancing (FA don't have discretion).  Interesting, I didn't realize the distinction.

Someone seems a little pissy for being called out on their shitty Transsexuals post, defense of Kevin Spacey, pointless multitude of statistics.

And the club would need to inform the FA if it was a drugs. It also would have leaked. Clubs cant do a transfer without it leaking days before.

Maybe its accentuated by us fans constantly warning about this kind of thing being likely to happen with a paper thin squad too?

And yet Spurs have very few injuries! Simple point is that you, and I, nobody on this forum are in any position to call out medics!

Calling for sacking because of injuries! Absolute projection. Haha - Sturridge hardly ever plays and that fucker is always injured!

I know what your saying mate but like it says in the link I posted it is possible for clubs and The FA to cover it up, like I said I don’t think this is the case with Clyne but it’s clearly possible for the FA to do it. Berahino was out for 3 months with an injury that became apparent later on his was banned for MDMA.

Sacking? Dont you read this forum or what? 'They will have to go in the summer' is a regularly used sarcastic phrase on here.

Seem to remember Chelsea making an example of Mutu and it costing the player millions.

Anyhow, it’s hard to know what’s going on with Clyne. If it’s a genuine back injury, fair enough, but we’ve seen the club use this excuse before. Coutinho is trying to force a move to Barcelona and won’t play, in the hope that it will go through? Erm, back injury it is then!

It sounds plausible that he’s done cocaine or something like that, been caught out, got a ban, failed to get the ban reduced on appeal, and now has a setback with the old back injury. Then again, it could be miles off and the player is being unfairly speculated on. Hard to say.

What we can say is Gomez looks good at right back. Pace, strength, and the mistakes you would expect from a young player are fading too. He is good in the 1v1 like Clyne, but I think he offers a bit more going forward than Clyne. TAA looks good too, when we’ve seen him. He is better again in an attacking sense, but defensively not quite as solid, but not bad.

Maybe the future is to shift Gomez into the middle and play TAA at right back? I wouldn’t mind seeing that for a spell of games. We might not look back.
