Sky sports in hyperbole shocker.

Said it before but it's turning into WWF.

And it's going to get worse. The older lot are being pushed out for social media knobheads, and players willing to go down the character, controversy line

The superstars issue isn't even worth thinking about it's such a ridiculous claim.

Capitalism is so short sighted that sky are trying to ramp up the "and we're live!!!" banter, all the while talking up a corrupt footballing evil empire that is essentially going to destroy its viewing figures.

Redknapp talking out of his backside as usual. Bang average player too.

you can’t compare Haaland to anyone because those classic stars of yesteryear played in a real competitive landscape, not like the circus it’s become now.

Of course Haaland was going to bang them in, City bang them in anyway, he’s just the icing on top for them. Most teams are beaten as soon as they walk on the pitch because of the way city play.

True.

Owen in his pomp was doing everything, as was Gerrard.

You've experienced Code's wrath for criticising Haaland.

Meh.

Its true though isn't it. He's a good goalscorer but he basically just needs to hover around the six yard box and one of the multiple creative mids at Peps disposal will set him up over and over again.

peps game plan is to bore everyone to death including the opposition by passing them to oblivion.

I can comment on this also.

Imagine if it was that easy, if you just hoovered around in the box you would score shitloads.

It's obviously not.

Haalands movement is exceptional, his reading of the game likewise.

He is one of the most professional players you could imagine, he has studied all kind of strikers to learn from them, just the tiny things to improve his own game. If you listen to him when he talks you can pick up all kind of things.

The way he takes care of himself when it comes to nutrition, resting and doing everything than can help him improve, is also second to none.

Haaland is breaking all kind of records, his stats in the CL, even before he came to City was just unreal.

If it was so easy, why have no other striker who has played for Ciry been remotely close to getting the same kind of numbers?

Haaland is just a different kind of animal, I just hope he fucks off to Madrid rather sooner than later.

And so with all of that he challenged himself by signing for the team most likely to succeed with endless pots of cash and who have, with the exception of one or two certain football teams, hoovered up if not all the trophies available in the last decade.

he can be Ian Rush x2 with Maradona mixed in but the point still stands he's playing in a very uneven competitive space that other legends didn't have.

Id even compare hm to Guardiola. he's a good manager but not a great one. Because great managers can do things with teams without endless cash and the best of everything. Guardiola has never actually proven himself.

I loved Redknapp as a player, wish we had someone like him in our midfield now.

Yeah we're just crying out for a midfielder who spends more time on the treatment table than on the pitch.

As for the superstar line, Redknapp (Who I also like) is clearly wrong here.

Cantona, Shearer, Schmeichel, Cole, Fowler, Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Beckham, Gerrard, Owen, Bergkamp, Henry, Ashley Cole, Drogba, Lampard, Torres, Aguero, Hazard, De Bruyne, Salah, Van Dijk, Allisson could have all walked into any side in the world in their prime.

You could probably make a case for these as well plus probably another 10 I've missed off.

Ginola, McManaman, Essien, Van Nistelrooy, Ballack, Ferdinand, Terry, Alonso, Yaya Toure, Zola, Mane, Firmino,

Now you have gone full on wind up merchant. I thought he was ok,but he was always injured and pretty boy style over substance.

Redknapp in his cream FA Cup suit is the perfect image of everything that was wrong with LFC at that time period.

How so? Pep at Barcelona had all the very best players in world football in a two horse league. At Bayern he all the best players, bought the best of the rest from his own domestic league in a league where at best you might get one solid challenger.

He then moved to City who had already spent a small fortune under the previous Managers, inherited a strong squad and topped it up with a load of quality. And if that quality didn't work out he just went out and replaced them.

The only team to challenge him in all that time has been us on a shoestring budget and a GREAT Manager. And we still only got 1 title out of it and 1 FA Cup and 1 Carabao.

Man City in the last ten years ish

6 leagues and likely to win the 7th this season

2 FA Cups

6 League Cups

That some haul. If they do win a treble this season thats 17 trophies in a decade! They've only added Haaland this year who is currently one of the most prolific strikers in world football, the cherry on top of a dominant side.
