Indian summer has hit us over here in Germany, 27°C today, i fucking melted on my bike ride.

First day on New hybrid bike. 5 miles in 29 minutes. Bike is like a dream but as always going home will be worse as its more uphill.

It's small fry compared to you lot but today a chubby bald man did a cycle to work and back. 5 miles each way. 29 mins there and 33 mins back.

 

Absolutely buzzing at the mo. No doubt I'll be sore tomorrow but feel like I could do it again now.

Raleigh Strada 2. Mid range hybrid. I couldn't stretch my post baby budget baby higher unfortunately

Just standard pedals. When I'm a bit more confident on the roads I might upgrade. I think my fitness level is the major issue.

 

Having a day off today and cycling in again tomorrow.

Isn't there also a bike ride that starts on the East coast by Hull and heads towards Liverpool over the Pennines takes about 12 hours, have you heard of it or done it? Head that the first part is up hill as you head up the Pennines but once you get the top it's down hill.

There are a few coast to coast routes. The best know is probably Whitehaven to Tynemouth. I haven't done it but I'd like to have a go, its about 140 miles so one very long day or 2 short days.

Might invest in them I was freezing this morning on my way in. Or just long sleeves of which I own practically zero as I'm always warm under normal circumstances.

 

Any tips on kinds of gloves to get? Think I'll need them shortly
