And Guns N Roses emotionlessly screeching their way through Dylan? Come on, man! And Oasis doing I Am the Walrus? Are you SERIOUS? I've heard better sounds when I'm on the toilet.

How about Oasis' cover versions of Revolver or The White Album or Get It On or, ah, forget it.

I'm not saying it's better than the original (maybe that's for another thread?), but this is totally different, yet maintains the original sentiment (unlike Paul Young's):

If there is a hotter more talented artist in this thread than my next offering, then you have guaranteed rep coming your way.

Where do peoples opinion lye on this ? , I personally love it but have seen it mentioned before today as a worst cover ever type of thing ?? can't agree with that.

Not good and not bad. Just ok. Defintely not the worst.

Never really liked any of the Guns N Roses covers.

This rocks.

Not for a minute suggesting that it's the best cover version, or better than the original, but it does stand up pretty well. Perhaps it helps that Jan Hammer presided over the cover as well.

I don't think I've heard anything that can claim to be better than the stuff the Easy All-Stars have done. The Radiodread album really is as good as cover versions get. If someone said there were reggae versions of the OK Computer album knocking about you'd probably think it'd be a funny little distraction that succeeded on novelty; but you'd be wrong. The whole album is brilliant:
