Really rate this lad. First saw him against us in the youth cup, and he was almost unplayable. I've kept an eye on his progress since then, and I reckon he's a really good player.

Couple of people I know in the North East say he's a bad knobhead though, and when I saw him with cornrows in his hair it did set off the alarm bells.

I read in the paper today that he broke Steven Taylor's jaw, which I can't decide if that makes him a good lad or a bad one, as Taylor is a massive twat and was apparently banging Carroll's ex bird or something.

He's also up in court at the end of the season for assault I think, but then so was Gerrard. The only thing that would put me off making a move for him is his character, as I reckon he's going to be a top player one day.

I've seen a fair bit of him and like you I've seen games that he has been unplayable in.

I'm firmly convince that he will be the England No 9 for a long time within three or four years (Probably sooner). He's a great athelete and has all tools to be one of the best in the business.

Except maybe the right mentality, that's my concern.

I remember that. He looked fucking ridiculous. Think you're right though, he'll end up being a very good player. Good balance of technique and presence.

True that - some of the Geordies can't stand him. Which is very strange for anyone playing at No 9 for them.

I wonder if that won't calm down when he get's a little older.

I'd certainly take a chance on him though.

Not sure if Benitez would put up with his antics (presents Craig Bellamy as exhibit 1 M'Lud)

I have been banging on about him for months. I think he is a fucking powerhouse of a striker. I am adamant he will make it in the premiership next season too. He's only 20/21 and is absolutely one for the future.

Bar being lethal with his head in the opposition box, he wins almost everything in his own box too. And he can play.

Dont normally disagree with our erudite forum owner but, carroll's shyte. He looks good because he's in the second division.

He looks ponderous to say the least.

I thought he looked good last season in the top division when he played. He does seem like a loon though, you'd think maybe having Joey Barton as a team-mate would make him realise what can happen if you don't keep your nose clean, but apparently not.
