Routine win which is a good sign. No need to exert too much energy against an average side. Let's hope for good news with Trent and Ibou back for wolves. Let's also hope they don't hammer Virgil.

Squad looks strong but could have done with a few more additions, namely to the defence.

Most controlled and organised seen us for a while....Playing with a midfield that has legs, mobility and importantly too a bit of creativity/threat makes a real difference.

Mac Allister and Szoboszlai were excellent today and offer big upgrades for us....with much more to come.

Shame we have to stop for that frigging international shite now - as would really love to see us play again quickly after that.

One other thing the absolute state of Aston Villa fans - that dirge of a "national anthem" which was bad enough and sign on - sign on, from people from Birmingham/West Midlands - absolute fucking beauts....

Decided i need to tackle the 3ft high grass in my garden and that would probably be a better use of my time today so happy to see I was proven wrong and it described as a routine win. Only downside is a potential Trent injury(maybe one day we'll learn to buy backup before an injury, maybe).

Well, that was all rather enjoyable.  Really good performances all over the park (even those areas where we all thought we'd struggle).  A potentially tricky fixture turned into a very comfortable Sunday afternoon stroll in the sun.  Once we got on the front foot early on, Villa never looked like getting back into it.

Uncontroversial opinion: our midfield is better than last season.
