I didn't feel that myself. It very much to me felt like stuff Mac Allister would have dealt with comfortably.

Mac Allister is certainly better at receiving the ball in tight areas but if you know that & I know that, surely the centre backs know it and could be a bit more pragmatic.

I don't think klopp and ljinders want them to be. It's like the high line arguement or Trent in hybrid. They believe this is how we should play and they trust the players to figure it out. It's a gamble and as the quality of player diminishes on the pitch (kelleher for alisson or endo for Macca), the gamble becomes bigger. But they still think it's one worth taking.

Thought he was OK.

Yes he was. He has been mostly alright in recent weeks. He is relatively good on the ball too. Overall though, you just sense there is a lack of physicality and mobility in him which can be exploited by opponents.

Would really like for us to buy a top class DM in January. A mobile, aggressive, strong player who can do the DM duty and free Mac Allister to play further forward as the 8.

People placing a negative lens over his performances because they put their stake in the ground after his first few performances for us, and they can’t see the positive contribution he makes to the team as that would be tantamount to admitting that their initial and unchanging judgement might be suspect.  Where would we be without this stuff?

Good game again today. A couple of situations where he struggled a bit, but all in all a very good display against a very strong opponent.

I absolutely love the way he gets stuck in and muscles the ball off the opponents. Our best spell in the game today was the start of the second half, where we tore Arsenal completely apart and only some bad decision making and lack of quality in decisive moments stopped us from scoring a couple of goals. Endo was instrumental to that spell, and only the players ahead of him denied us the reward.
