Report: Liverpool have no desire to sell Carvalho

Liverpool will reject any bids for Fabio Carvalho as Jurgen Klopp sees the youngster having a long-term future with the club.

 

But part of that education may be spent away from the Reds next season.

 

The Mail reports that German club RB Leipzig have had a £10 million bid knocked back last month and that will remain the case for the foreseeable future.

 

With the 20 year-old finding first team minutes extremely difficult to come by in the second half of the season after a largely positive start, it is believed the manager is leaning towards a loan move for the youngster.

 

Burnley who have undergone a complete facelift in playing style under progressive manager Vincent Kompany have been the most frequently mentioned club for Carvalho to hone his game.

 

In truth, it makes a deal of sense as he will be at a Premier League club with a set of players who have similar technical qualities.

 

While the speculation regarding the Liverpool future of Carvalho has grown in recent weeks largely to do with his lack of minutes with no real explanation attached, Klopp did address the topic leading into the final game of the season.

 

 

‘No player has impressed me more than Fabio, it is the truth. 

 

'This talented boy came here with big dreams and big expectations and it didn’t work out – it was okay in the beginning but it didn't work out in the end.

 

'But his work ethic will give him a fantastic career because he trained with getting nothing.'

 

The first season as a Red for Carvalho has unquestionably been a difficult and frustrating one, but if it sets him towards a pathway of realising his potential then it can be viewed as a blessing in disguise.

If we genuinely see a future for him here I'd keep him next season and play him in the Europa.

I thought he looked quite decent early on. No chance I'd consider selling him unless it was for silly money or a make-weight for a bigger signing.

Like Elliot he doesn't look physically big,quick or strong enough to fit into Amy formation we use. Doesn't have the pace to play wide, or the strength to play midfield. Both suit a 4231

I think he is faster,by streets,than Elliott and can easily get stronger too. It would be a shame to lose him as our denial is basically saying we want much more than 10 million if we sell. Plus a sale so soon might look a bit foolish for the club. His agent could be sounding clubs out though.
