He is also deceptively slow. He is flattering to deceive and deserves criticism too,but doesnt get it because he's easy on the eye.

Nah, he is actually deceptively quick which is why he ghosts past fellas with the ball and wins challenges he has no reason to.

I was watching back the first half of this tonight and a few things were clearer to me.

1. Thiago makes some bad decisions around positions he takes up, and when to stay and when to pressure.

2. Fabinho was worse than Henderson, he was barely a factor in the game.

3. Lopetegui might turn Wolves into a decent team, especially away from home.

4. Ait Nouri and Traore were brilliant.  They were rapid and worked their socks off to stifle our full backs, but also came inside to give the midfield a physical presence, but also shit forward like whippets on the break.

5. I think Klopp might change formation in the return game to stop those two being such a factor.  Their pace and particularly Traores power, coupled with the bustling Hodge in the middle just meant they were first to loads of 2nd balls.  It will be groundhog Day if we approach it with the same midfield.

I've suggested a few times that we overrate Thiago, and I think we do, but to coin a phrase, he's the least of our worries in that midfield three at the moment.

I'd even play Elliott in there ahead of Fabinho and Henderson on recent evidence. He won't be that much worse defensively and he'll be much better going forward. Henderson's getting on in years so a fall-off shouldn't be unexpected, but Fabinho's cliff-dive has been bitterly disappointing for a player just gone 29 who looked world class for us at times.

I've always thought that Ait Nouri was an excellent player. Pretty sure he played one of his first games against us as a kid.

I'm sure I rated him before you, I remember calling it a few years back. We don't need him though.
