Any idea if we've given up? I really want us to sign him based on nothing really, similar to Mikhitaryan or however you write it, last season.

The country has gone into meltdown since Ayre returned from the Ukraine and it's possible that loads of the top players in the country are looking to get out, so in theory it's possible that we might have the better hand in any negotiations this time round. If indeed we are still looking to sign the player. As a Champions League club that plays excellent football, we will be a very attractive proposition to the calibre of player that was beyond our reach not so long ago.

We're supposedly after better now.

Umm...

Yep, James Milner

Milner? Yevhen a larf intcha?

At 12m we should be all over it. Pace out wide on the left. Builds the quality of the squad. Come on.

And he's a bit rubbish

I disagree.

He is disciplined and the consummate professional, very highly regarded by his colleagues . He also covers the defence well too. He would not cost a fortune and would be far lower risk than a foreign purchase.

Wasn't there some kind of complicated ownership issue a la Joorabchian, and Ayre found out in the last minute that someone else owned him or part of him like his left big toe?

There's some sort of ITK on RAWK who's said that the problem was with some sort of businessmen issues with the UK and the impact the move might have on their larger holdings.  I didn't understand all of it, but it involved the increased scrutiny that would fall on their business dealings when they divested themselves of the part-ownership of Konoplyanka to a UK-based team.  A tangled web indeed, I think we should just steer clear of the whole thing if any of that is true.

Milner better than Konoplanka? Xerxes you utter Dickhead.

Konoplyanka at 12m he can be the bargain of this summer. I was screaming for years for Arda Turan(Liverpool fan) and Diego Ribas. Look at Atletico now. Champions in Spain and in the CL final too

Sign Konoplyanka or Turan for the wing.

I don't get this. So we sent Ayre out to hammer a deal out back in January, we were all set to get him and now suddenly we're not even bothered? Have our priorities shifted so much or were they that wrong when they tried to sign him? Either way, it doesn't exactly shift the perception that our transfer policy is as haphazard as me trying to play darts.
