At for the match, how did Coates do? He's hardly mentioned in the thread, does that mean he did ok? I assume he wasn't outstanding, which isn't to be expected with his lack of matching.

I thought we were pretty shit with five at the back. It wasn't until we changed at half-time that we really kicked on.

As good as it feels to see players like Coutinho and Sturridge excel in that match it is tempered by Coates and Shelvey. Both undeniably crap. Hurts too in the case of the baldy - neither are anywhere close.

 

I thought Coates did ok tbh. He hadn't stepped on a football pitch since January and didn't really do anything wrong.
