Recoiled a few drippers last night, using thinner wire, bigger coils and higher ohms than I can on a mech (mostly dual coils each of 12 wraps of 0.2mm kanthal, coming out to a total of about 1.8 ohms. Whacking around 6 volts through them on a DNA30 and the flavour and vapour is amazing. Burning through juice far too quickly though

I'm 10 and a half months off fags. I've weaned myself down to 8mg oil but I'm desperate to get off it altogether. I am far more psychologically dependent on this crack pipe than I ever was on cigarettes. I take spare bits of kit with me everywhere I go, and I panic if I put it down and can't find it. It's like having a dummy! I might ask my mum if I can hand it over to Father Christmas for an extra present.

I haven't tried to quit it and have gone "hobbyist" so probably won't. However, I'm not particularly arsed, I don't really vape low ohms or high watts so the issues of juice degradation are unlikely to affect me too much and I either vape 6mg or nic-free. I have run out of batteries or juice on a few occasions and am not getting any of the cravings that I would have done with the fags.

Anyway, be happy that you're not getting the smoke, tar and 4,000 extra chemicals that come with proper cigarettes

I am a bit of a hobbyist too , but it seems I've found my ideal set up so haven't bought anything new for ages . I did get worried at one stage that the government was going to ban them over here so I bought a litre of 100mg Nicotine just to be safe . I spent a year using 18-24 mg juice before I started dripping and every juice since then has been 6mg although using 0.5 ohm coils means I go through a fair bit of it , about 3-5 mls a day.

That's pretty much it, I'm no longer a smoker. As evidence emerges regarding e-cigs and vaping it's pretty clear that it's substantially less harmful than smoking. As one recent study put it, it should be considered about as damaging as drinking coffee. Interesting that the opponents of it are now shifting their argument from purely medical objections to socially objecting to it e.g. it's a gateway drug.

Personally I vape less than I smoke and I rapidly reduced the nicotine level to 6mg over the first couple of months. I'm sure I'm still addicted to nicotine but I thoroughly enjoy vaping especially the whole hobbyist aspect. There's a bit of a ritual to buying and maintaining kit.

As someone who has tried and failed on numerous times to kick a 20+ a day ciggy habit I never thought I'd be able to go 18 months without a cigarette with a minimal of fuss giving up.

Just read through a bit of this, I can't get my head around how some of you have been chonging on these thing for over a year ?? surely the idea is to ween off tobacco but not stay on these thing forever ??? am I missing something ?? with all due respect to my fellow forumites, you'll go a long way to not look a total ballbag with one of these, so surely the aim is to get off them asap ???

I've just read a bit more of the thread, excuse my ignorance, I understand it's obviously better than tobacco, i'm slightly predhjudice towards these because there's a fella in our work who smokes one and carries four spare ones in the pocket on his bag, he's the most tedious cunt alive.

I'll bet you get on with him like a house on fire.

Some people do it for a short while to give up. Some people like it and get into the whole thing. Admittedly having a discussion about mods, coil sizes, wire resistances, airflow control systems, ohm's law, battery amp pulse ratings, PG/VG ratio affect on throat hit and flavour is not something that most people are going to appreciate down the pub - but then my brain clouds over when someone tells me about their car engine

And I like the design of my flask mod. It makes me look like I'm drinking such a hard liquor that I breathe fire afterwards. In my head, that's almost as hard, clever and cool as being a smoker

My bird is a specialist copd nurse and reckons she know people that are now completely addicted to e cigs whilst still smoking 60 a day, decent.
