Still pissed off that we could.have had a centre back training with us the last few months, who would be fully embedded in the squad with experience of how we play and a few games under his belt with A Partner (whoever that would be) at the back. All ready for the next set of difficult games coming up.

But no, wait til the last minute, get a bargain. I doubt either signing will help us for a few weeks at least.

It mentioned in that Athletic article something like the Redball thing would have also meant FSG being listed as a public company and MLB pushing back on that because they don’t want people seeing the finances/inner workings of the other franchises.

Yeah, but listing was what redball wanted, they saw it as a path to riches and I suspect probably another fund raising round via the IPO. Most PE investors probably wouldn't want that. Just look at city.

What would you prefer was the outcome of the High Court RBS ownership battle? No prevarication, there's no magic other option that wasnt on the table. These were the only decisions the court could have made except to order an adjournment for Hicks and Gillet to come to some repayment agreement with the banks and which is, ultimately, option 1.

1, Hick & Gillet won and retained control

2, Peter Lim won and he owned the club

3, Gillet's hedge fund backers won and they owned the club

4, NESV \ FSG won and they owned the club

5, The court ruled LFC was to be put into administration, and the administration handled by RBS or other liquidators?

FSG are ok in most respects, they are good businessmen without being ambitious or committing to any long term vision. What I would like them to do is invest some of their own money into the club like nearly every other owner does.

Stop being stingy bastards and expecting the club to outperform Man Utd commercially whilst doing the bare minimum. They have said that the club hasn't reached it's potential financially, but that is more to do with them.

They are always one of the first owners to appear when there's a possibility that there will be a European super League or more tv money. It is good that we are there to have a say in the matter but it comes across as a money grabbing action rather than shaping the future of the club. Especially when they barely put anything of their own in.

Stop expecting one of the best managers we've ever had to work miracles on a sell to buy policy. He's done it already and delivered two major trophies, he's earned the right to be backed properly. It's good that we don't get taken for mugs in the transfer market but their rigid obsession with finding value and resale potential holds us back.

Stop the propaganda shite through the press, its nauseating and then it creates even more resentment when they don't sign anyone.

The only other alternative is to have a rich Arab or a dodgy Russian but who is going to pay the money they want to sell it?

Propaganda already started. James Pearce saying won't be spending much for third summer in a row. That's when we desperately need a centre back, replacement for Gini and another forward

The nice lady who brings the rug for my knees told me we've just bought two CBs.  Gini will be replaced by Jones.  The forward, I agree, we do need.

We've got - among others - Van Dijk, Salah, Mané, Firmino, Keita and Fabinho all with two years left on their contracts. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see three of them go in the summer - probably Keita, Firmino and one of Salah or Mané, with Van Dijk a possibility if we miss the CL. That'll fund a couple of players and renewals, although probably less without top four.

Who's buying them?

This group of players have won the biggest trophies available over the last couple of years. They are winners and would've wanted to continue to add to their medals while they were at the top. Despite losing one key player very early on (Van Dijk) they kept going admirably and was still in a good position up to xmas.

However to then see player after player go down with long term injuries with no indication of being supported in the transfer window has no doubt had a demoralising effect on the team. It almost become impossible to compete yet the players were shown no support to help their ambitions to win, so it's no wonder it has come to this sadly.
