honestly - do people at the echo actually start buying into this shite themselves? repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth? it really is shocking the levels the echo stoops to to keep their tongues up the owners hoop. there's just absolutely no shame in anything they publish. it's actually at a point i am thinking about the bloos and the BMD stories - is it really their fault if the echo run the bloo side of the sports desk like they do the red? there's plenty enough of our fans lap this mbappe shit up and the "we're the cleverest" shite. is there any surprise they have a section of fans who lap up all this BMD and USM bullshit?

this mbappe shite reminds me of all these right wing qanon nut jobs who support trump. the way they keep spitting out prophesies and then they don't happen, so they just start them again - "trump will get the army to arrest biden and obama on inauguration day and then take over and return us a rightful government stolen from us" .... oooops "it's all a fake, biden is just there while trump pulls together his shadow government and the army takes out biden and restores trump in march after proving election fraud" .... "mbappe 2020, hahaha its a joke".... "he's with nike, so are we, there must have been truth in it, mbappe 2020 it is" .... ooooops "mbappe 2021, big summer, powder dry etc"

As for this window, they did the absolute minimum once again. If it turns out to be clever in the end fair enough but in my opinion the lack of cover at the back for the last month has pretty much cost us the title. Its not all on the centre back issue but that costing us fabinho and Henderson in midfield is a huge blow.

It also has the knock on, if they had been here for a month then at least one could start against Brighton, City etc leaving Hendo and/or Fab, if fit, to move into midfield now as opposed the end of this month.

Listening to Klopp, he said something along the lines of Matip was never fully fit when coming back, due to needing him to play. If we had bought a CB or two at the start of the window, maybe Matip could have had a longer break and then be available for more games later on. I know that is a big if, but rushing an injured, injury prone player back too quickly was always going to end badly.

I hope both signings turn out to be great successes and work out very well, but irrespective, it still won't change the fact that FSG acted too late because they were forced too by the change in circumstances due to Matip injury.

Plus its not like they've provided funds this has been more of the balancing act with minamino going out. That said I wasn't expecting us to go out and sign superstars we needed worse case scenario additions so we've done that but its the minimum the side should of expected. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the davies signing was more of a chance to make profit. Im just gutted about our January results from riding high to below city and man United. Ole fucking Solskjaer the smuggest twat in football is taking that shite to a title challenge.

If we get a striker it will be someone like Jeremy Doku or Patson Daka for around £25m-£30m. Paid for by Origi, Wilson, Grujic, Awoniyi, Woodburn and the wages saved on Wijnaldum.

A few stories will leak about Mbappe being a greedy cunt who didnt want to take a 60 per cent pay cut to play for Liverpool and how FSG did some bizarre quantum physics analysis to demonstrate that he wasnt worth the money, especially during these difficult times.

Then Melissa Reddy can tell us all how amazing FSG are yet again and all the FSG fanboys will lap it up.

That'll be the same Mbappe who'd sign for 3 years then want to fuck off to Real when the world and football's in a 'better place'?

He's a great player but the only ones I see going on about him coming here are the Echo and the anything but FSG boys with their endless self flagellation.

They're deluded if they think they will ever sell us for what we are now considered to be worth.

They'll sell down slices of the club recouping their original investment five-fold or more and still hang onto the biggest slice to see if they can squeeze any more capital growth out of it.

Yes, they don't really have any choice. No-one is paying £2 billion or whatever they'd want for us.

They'll do something along the lines to what they planned with redball. That's didn't fall through because fsg overvalued us, it fell through officially as redball couldn't prove they had the money. I suspect Billy Beane needing to give up being involved with the As had something to do with it. There'll be other willing investors. Private Equity investors have just pumped $500m into the group that owns city for a 10% stake.

It mentioned in that Athletic article something like the Redball thing would have also meant FSG being listed as a public company and MLB pushing back on that because they don’t want people seeing the finances/inner workings of the other franchises.
