You've got to hand it to the jobbing English managers who specialise in avoiding relegation, they know how to spin a mediocre career into serious money.

Ironic that it was just over a month ago he was on tv in Dubai saying that he was a foreigner in his own land!

The biggest hurdle to young English managers is old English Managers.

A lot of people seem to think just by appointing him they’re guaranteed to stay up. They’re toxic towards him already and it could well have the opposite effect.

Not that I'm arsed about Allardyce taking over but a couple of similarities have got me slightly worried....

Joe Royle who played a similar alehouse football to Sam took over in 94 and his first game in charge was against us when let loose the "dogs of war" in a never to be forgotten (well for the bitters) two nil victory when they were struggling at the bottom.

Another similarity is they both have enormous heads.

I can only see one similarity to be honest.

It was at Goodison. And playing hoofball is perfectly logical with Drunken up front. Niasse, Rooney and Ramirez?

£25m bid for Caroll or Igaloo in January I think.

Allardyce has pulled their pants down here.

A manager who's won fuck all and he's demanding higher wages than Zidane and has made them go back on when they refused Koeman permission to bring Sammy Lee in.

Allardyce has got them right by the balls and their willingness to submit to his demands shows that they're shitting themselves at the prospect of going down.

Sam. Fucking. Allardyce.

"Only the best will do" though, eh?
