Just got in from work, sat down for lunch, got the iplayer on and tried watching 'That Mitchell and Webb Look' again

.... yet again I am bored shitless.

 

Peep Show was always awesome. Funny characters that developed, fantastic comedy storylines and all round greatness.

 

Mitchell and Webb doing shit sketches about nothing of interest is the exact opposite. Utter unfunny rubbish.

The Donitz sketch is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

 

It might have some weak bits, but M&W is still good.

Its pretty variable. Some of it is shite, but there are funny bits too.

I'm really disappointed with it. I loved Peep Show all the way through and the characters were brilliantly thought out.

 

In relation to the new stuff, I like the Numberwang sketch but that's all.

 

Mock the Week back tonight though .... good stuff.

Mitchell and Webb are quality. I can take or leave the Peep Show, but I think That Mitchell and Webb look is inspired. Very clever comedy.

It is disappointing on the whole. Some good sketches and that and some good ideas. It just seems poorly done a lot of the time. Like each show was knocked together over a weekend or something.

 

They don't write Peep Show so maybe they are best working other people's stuff.

first 2 seasons were decent at best. watchable. 3rd season is a joke. now got completely random and i can't even watch it. its so boring and unfunny im not really sure why they ever made the episodes and thought "yea, thats good. we'll do that!"

Most sketch shows are pretty hit and miss. However, this is mostly miss.

 

It was better when it was "that mitchell and webb sound" on the radio, but even then it wasn't side splitting stuff.

 

I think people will always judge them based on their performances in Peep Show (even though they didn't write it) and maybe that changes people's expectations?

Usually I wouldn't dream of commenting on inter-relationship banter but I have to say you were absolutely aced there Lurtz, a Henman to briefs' Sampras.

 

Anyway, Mitchell & Webb is certainly hit and miss but the hits are great. As has already been mentioned in the thread, the surrealist, deadbeat Dick Barton exploits of Sir Digby Chicken Caesar are a particular high point.
