Summer 2023 Transfer Thread

It's all been said before, but I'll say it anyway.

I don't want to call for FSG Out, because my head hurts at the thought of what we'll get instead, and how the instability and uncertainty will affect what happens on the pitch.

As well as that, I hate Twitter, and most of the FSG Out people I just can't identify with.

But the truth is, they are selling us well short.

They are playing on our inevitable optimism, and our unwavering loyalty.  These are the things that will get them through these rough waters.  Next Saturday when the season starts, we'll all be optimistically behind the boys.  We'll battle on, we'll win a few and the potential poison will evaporate.

As well as selling us short, they are selling Klopp short.  He is the BEST manager in the world.  The best manager in the world is the manager of our club.  It is such a privilege.

Their negligence is going to cost us on the pitch, and, sooner or later, off the pitch too.

Haggling over a few million for a player they have pinned everything on is bizarre.  And I'll be honest, I'm hooked into this Lavia affair like I have some sort of key investment in it.  AND I DON'T EVEN WANT HIM.

We need better.  We need a better holding midfielder, and we need better owners.

I suppose I don't want new owners, I just want our current owners to change, be better, get behind the manager, and honour the supporters who deserve better,

I’ll be honest, if we don’t offer £50m for Lavia I believe its coz Klopp doesn’t value him at that. We won’t know for certain the reasons why it’s taking ages, but £50m for a 19 year old from a relegated side does seem well over the top. We need a ready made CDM regardless!

Maybe it's taking ages because Southampton have a game tonight and wanted to focus on that this week.

But then it’s astonishing how other players are left out of teams playing games so the transfer can be concluded while the lead up to and the game is in progress.

Just over a week to go and no new players signed after paying 2 release clauses all summer. He's sitting off by a pool sunbathing with a mobile and a laptop nearby. Fucking great.

i guess it’s better than when Rick Parry didn’t even have his turned on.

Fsg are extremely sensitive and safe when it comes to transfer funds.

How many times have they left us short now. After we nearly won the the league in 18/19 we didn't spend fuck all.

After we won the champions league, again, nothing.

Wheb can dijk and gomez both got season ending injuries, they sanctioned the German lad on loan.

It's a running theme.

And funnily enough, they're doing the same thing with the Boston red sox, so it's nothing to be surprised about either.

Money we should have absolutely no problem finding at all for the right player.

Yep.

People have been so comprehensively duped by FSG that they haven’t noticed that there isn’t a single club of equivalent size to us that spends so little. It’s not about “oil states”, it’s about FSG’s absolute refusal to run us like a big club.

Let’s forget about Man City and Newcastle and PSG and look at the likes Arsenal and Tottenham - either they’re much bigger clubs bringing in far more money than us, or FSG are doing an appalling job at ensuring we remain competitive.

Chelsea and Liverpool are complete opposite extremes of how to run a big club. Of the two strategies though I'd prefer the Chelsea method. Eventually some of these signings will start to pay off. They are buying up so many promising young players it's inevitable that they will strike gold with some of them.

I think at the last published "revenue list" we generated £230m more than Arsenal.....
