He's fine, but it's a very "we're hoping to finish 5th/6th" signing. If City signed him and he was going to be a solid backup, it'd probably help them win the league, but as a first choice, he's pretty meh.

I agree with you in theory but that really only works if the player is good enough at reading the game tactically. It's among the reasons why players like Pirlo and Xabi never needed to be particularly quick (although Xabi massively benefited from Masch playing alongside him during a big chunk of his time here). Hendo's got a tendency to lose track of players as was mentioned, of course as 6 he might be aware that tackling and tracking are more of his job in that position as there isn't a midfielder behind him and adjust but it's not a foregone conclusion that it'll work.

I don't think there will be anymore midfield signings. Jurgen hates having players sitting around not in the team and having replaced the injury prone guys with hopefully more robust ( and better ) players this would be the case to my mind. In a Europa League season the following should be more than enough.
