Just more perfectly normal behaviour in the UK.

It’s quite something.

Usually if I’m not interested in something, or it annoys me, I can just tune it out, but that is impossible here. We’re not being given the option of avoiding it and at the same time being asked to give tacit approval, by not being critical, under the guise of “showing respect”.

Most normal country in the world.

I've had messages from Spanish acquaintances and distant Chilean relatives offering their condolences. They watch coverage of our Royal Family, and many people's bizarre serf like behaviour towards them and assume that all of us are in mourning today. Came as quite a shock to them when I explained I was only mildly annoyed that I couldn't watch The Chase last night, or the test match today.

I just find it all really weird. The coverage yesterday and today has been like what I would imagine it would like like had television been around a few hundred years ago. It has been North Korea-esque.

Sky Sports News was showing coverage of Boris Johnson giving a speech in parliament. Three of the four main terrestial channels were showing exactly the same coverage of the royal hymn singing thing at the same time.

Said yesterday, it's even worse than I expected it to be. Almost all of it appears satirical.

And it is gonna go on and on and fucking on and get worse over next week or so.

I am totally tuning out from it.....not watching any of the main channels.

UK Gold et al - catch up/on demand only for me until all this shite is over.

Having just spoken to my wife, who seems to think seven days of national mourning have been announced like this was Iran after Ayatollah Khomeini died  - there's something about seven extra days of royal mourning out there if you want to Google it, which means what exactly, they'll be extra bone idle for that period the fucking parasitical cunts - I don't see how football gets restarted until several days after Brenda is buried. I mean, if it's disrespectful tomorrow why is it any less disrespectful any time between now and then? And as for the Ajax game the flag shaggers (© Dave Usher) are going to be stoked at the prospect of disrespect, and the Kop will be only too happy to oblige. What a mess.

The period of mourning continues for 7 days after the funeral, which happens on day 10 (today being day 0!). So as today is actually a day and so was yesterday, that's 19 days of mourning in total.

I think the real sign of respect would be if the English national team withdrew from the world cup. It all feels just too soon. Imagine playing international football just 2 month after her death..

It's one for the shitness of the modern world thread.

I'm doing what I did during lockdown and not watching any mainstream TV or news for the foreseeable future.

Get a decent Boxset going or find a good game to get in to.

This whole thing Is just going to drag on for weeks!

I’ll remember this the next time people moan about mixing football with politics.

Not my favourite, some good ones on itv player and sky though. Not sure of my favourite maybe "last video show " "what makes shami run" or "the car lot blaggers" with Jimmy Nail doing the worst traveller accent ever

Football seems to be only sport that is knocking a massive hole in its schedule....a schedule already fucked up due to that shite in Qatar in December.

Bet life our game will be off next weekend as well due to funeral - you watch games in London will be off due to policing/police leave  issues and the funeral....we play in London next weekend so we suffer.

Man City for example are away at Wolves.... watch it take place.

Suggesting may be case here....
