We'll have to play a few first teamers against Arsenal. Alisson should be back so Adrian will probably get the nod to keep. Also have to have a few better options on the bench.

At the end of the day we will need to beat City to win this.

True, plus it would be easier playing them at home before a one off final at a neutral ground. Mind you, a few teams left who could beat City if they draw them at home in the 5th round.

We started with a scratch first XI who haven't played together as a unit before. It was a combination of lack of experience (the debutants), lack of match sharpness (the midfield trio) and lack of recent action (the centre backs). Of the starters, only Milner had had any significant game time recently.

Bearing that in mind, the team did pretty well tonight. Hoever, Jones and especially Elliott acquitted themselves extremely well, and at the very least gave Klopp something to think about regarding the first team picture. Cumin (that's how I thought his first name was pronounced anyway) Kelleher did well in goal. We had a few iffy moments in defence but that was mostly down to the unit's lack of cohesion than genuinely being put under the cosh.

Arsenal at home in the next round. I think both sides will continue to play a mixture of experience and youth.

Elliot - Very good. Really wouldn't mind him coming on late in a few league games once they're already won.

Jones - See above.

Oxlade - Poor. Expecting so much more, especially with him starting in the middle.

Keita - Not much to say, really felt like a game to get minutes in his legs. Wasn't poor or great.

Lallana - Shite. Sick of seeing him now. Would rather watch a youngster in there.

Brewster - Poor. Has never looked good enough when I've watched him play, even when he scores. He's a great finisher but just isn't involved in the game at all otherwise. He's like the anti-Bobby. I think it says a lot that he hasn't been on the bench even with Origi out, this performance kind of explains why.

Pretty much spot on . Would just add Gomes confirmed my suspicion that he is an excellent center back Jurgen needs to drop the idea he can cover full back positions. Between the wages we paying lallana and the transfer fee we paid for Kieta not plumping for /identifying  Madison a couple of years ago our biggest transfer "miss" for a while we need a young milner currently James better than those two put together. Cannot win them all.

Will we fuck play our first 11 against Arsenal, well play a similar side to tonight with Divock and Shaqiri involved.

There's plenty of room between last night's kids and our first team.

Take last night's starting XI, drop some kids to the bench to make way for Adrian, Shaqiri, Origi and one of our front three, then replace last night's bench full of kids with some first-teamers and you've got a match squad that will beat whatever Arsenal put out.
