I'm no fan of Keita but the whole midfield we had to field yesterday was a joke.  Definitely not a day to judge one individual.

This. Not saying Keita played well yesterday, and overall his time here has been a major disappointment. But a lot of the things written in here over the last 24 hours just comes across as lazy senseless jibberish.

Played very well yesterday. Carried the ball very well. Front foot in possession. He's not going to make up for the ill suited inadequacies of a 35 year & an 18 year old semi pro behind him in midfield - but realistically who would really.

It doesn't matter if he had Steven Gerrard or Christian Poulsen either side of him, there is no excuse for shitting out of a tackle (against Harry fucking Winks). I've kept faith in him right up until that moment, that was the end of the road for me, fuck him, I couldn’t give a shit if he's let go to Everton for free.

It’s not based off one game though is it? He’s been here 3 seasons now is it, and he’s been shite in each

That's where Klopp's thinking is I believe, though he's probably behind Elliot when that lad's fit.  No room for Ox or Henderson in the first team, but given our injury travails they would see plenty of game time.

Hahaha! Henderson again. It's quite incredible that you are still beating that drum. Fast forward to the FF in season 2025 'Jordan Henderson is not fit to play in our midfield' says Stringvest while completely ignoring his 850 appearances for the club.

Thiago's won a million things in his career, at multiple clubs. He was a key player specifically at Bayern. Keita in comparison hasn't done shit besides riding coattails to win trophies here.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the difference.

That's not the point though is it, even though I'm not sure what winning those medals with Bayern prove anyway.

Say it does prove something, yet he even needs Fabinho to baby sit him through games. He's been here half the time as Keita as well and has done fuck all too.

He's quite good at doing that preying gesture to the referees & gifting sitters to the opposition.

That’s a bit harsh. He single-handedly carrried our midfield at the back end of last season when Fabinho was mostly abysmal.

Yeah, it is the point. You give a player with an incredible CV, and someone who's had more good games for the club than Keita has in far less time, more leeway. Simple concept.

Also, "babysit" is a bit of a strong word, if not hyperbole. Thiago was arguably our best player at the end of last season. If not that, he was our best midfielder. Yeah, in football it's easier when you have a great holding midfielder behind you, what else is new.

I think most of that is false

We went away from home to the side 4th if they win their games in hand, and dominated possession/shots/shots in target with no Virgil, Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson & for stages 10 men. With Keita leading a midfield that included a semi pro 18 year old who needed to be taken off and 35 year old Milner. And there are some who think he didn’t have a good game? Sadio, Keita, Trent, Matip were all a class above. IQ simply can’t be helped.

Spurs won the game on xG, they had most of the big chances.

We got a result in spite of the midfield, which was getting cut apart time and time again.

Spurs didn't win any game, they drew. That xG stuff is great for bettors and traders but means fuck all to everything else. We got a draw but were unlucky not to win a game that shouldnt even have been played. The biggest disappointment under Klopp's reign is that this amazing team will have nowhere near the silverware it deserves.

Mate, the point was we didn't "dominate". That was a ridiculous shout from Alexander. xG can be used to determine who had the better chances and who was the best at not giving up the bigger chances in a game. I'm not saying Spurs actually won.

No,but you quoted this xG stuff which had little bearing on this match. Covid and injury  made Spurs look like their xG was going to go into orbit if not for the brilliance of Alisson and a phenomenally hard to beat Liverpool side.
