That isn't actually what you said. You said they "have been good".

Mane has, obviously. Clyne and Lallana have been a mixed bag. Lovren and Lambert have been appalling.

I think we’ve got value for money on the first three. It’s not been a distrastrous transfer policy.

Agree to a point

But id say they never intended to pay the 70ml quoted. They hoped the pressure would build and a 50ml or so would get done.

That's because they aren't idiots. No club, tight owner or not, thinks VVD is worth that kind of money. That's why City didn't pull the trigger this summer either.

The fuck?

But Stones for 50m was, before prices exploded even more because of Neymar and the TV deal? Or Mendy for 50m or Walker or Silva. They obciously dont care about prices.

They wanted him but were not desperate. And reportedly he choose to go to us.

Think lumping Lallana in the 'mixed bag' category is a bit harsh, personally. I'd have agreed under Rodgers, but he's been excellent under Klopp. Some of his performances as a centre mid have been outstanding. It's a testament to the manager's coaching capabilities.

But I was assessing the signing, not solely how he's done under Klopp.

He was fucking terrible for large parts under Rodgers. A complete waste of space.

That’s where you’re wrong.

Being a pessimist under these owners you’re never disappointed in any transfer window.

Up to you bud. The team is playing some great football. City will turn the Prem into a one club league but that is what happens when mega money man wants to make a club his personal toy.
