Imagine being one of his old friends.  He comes over with the new bird, who you absolutely KNOW he won't be able to stand in 3 years.  She's dressed him up in one of these ridiculous outfits to match her idea of style and taste and you swallow your tongue not to laugh out loud.  

 

You have to make small talk with her while he's out of the room, but she knows nothing about any of you and it's easy to see she doesn't care at all.  Even so, you still have to pretend to be happy for them the whole evening even if you hate her and are starting to wonder how you ever got to be mates with him.

 

There are mid-life crises and there are mid-life crises, too bad for Brendan that he picked the one that ends up ruining just about every relationship he's ever had.  Maybe he can buy a motorcycle and be mates with Ayre after he leaves next summer.
